Plaza idea with rocks?

So my plaza has a rock right at the literal border and I have covered it in white brick completely . I?d like to border it with hedges, but I run into the rock border. What should I do about it? I?ve decided just to put hedges around it and flowers in the buffer zone.

Is that the best I can do at this point?

If I understand your post correctly, did you know that you can plant bushes right next to cobblestone along with trees as well so you can border the plaza the way you like it? I hope this helps you answer your question!

Yeah, but one corner of a 2x5 area has the rock, which will probably look weird, but I’ll probably fill that with flowers as much as possible for the buffer rock One

Ah, I get what you are saying now. I have the same situation in my town next to the plaza and what I did was surround it with flowers and integrate it into my landscaping! Even though rocks can be a absolute nuisance at times, they can be very nice to integrate and feature in your landscaping.

I have a rock right in the buffer zone of the plaza too. It was really infuriating to work around because it's too close to the plaza to cover with trees and even if I do that, there will always be a gap in the treeline because of the rock's buffer zone. I decided to just mask the area with flowers and bushes and spread my trees out so the "gap" would look a bit more natural. I also have areas in town where a rock is right in the middle of my path. Because I couldn't find a nice way to work around the rock other than going straight through it, I even changed my tiles to that cobblestone/rock colour so it would look more natural lol. Other rocks I plot my villagers nearby and made the rock into a "seating area" for them. Those permanent rocks are really annoying but sometimes you just have to try and work them into your town I guess :/

I have the same problem. I alternated mines between trees and flowers. So since trees can’t grow next to the rock, I just placed a flower in each side and then the trees next to that and then alternated.

If I remember correctly, I believe all plazas have a rock next to them. They can just be in different locations. Mine is to the north, directly between my plaza and the train tracks. I just have a grouping of flowers in that area, so I don't have to worry about it.

But I like the idea of spacing out your bushes with flowers in between, like Bluebellie suggested. That way the rock would just take the place of what would have been a bush and it won't mess up your pattern.

Rocks are one thing I find really annoying with NL and landscaping esp around the plaza where I need pathwork. I wish I could get rid of them X) I usually ignore them to the best if my ability and plant flowers around them to make them more natrual and going with the pattern I have set.

I just have flowers all along the edges; I have bushes starting about 2-3 spaces away from the pavement.
