Player visitors interacting w/ your villagers?

What are your experiences with other players talking to your villagers? I've been thinking of letting people into my island if there's something interesting going on, especially since so many do that here and are so nice about it.

The only reason I hesitate is because I don't want my villagers potentially asking about so and so who visited like once ages ago and happened to interact with them then. I know they do that about passersby and then forget a few days later, but what about actual introductions and interactions? Do they remember forever?

It doesn’t matter if they interact with them or not. If someone drops something and leaves after 30 seconds, all my villagers won’t shut up about user123 from deeznutsisle.

They won’t remember ppl forever though, it’s kinda just like them gossiping about you planting money in the ground

I’m kinda in the middle ground. I’m fine with people talking to my villagers but at the same time I’m usually opening up my island for exchanges so I’d rather have people get through the deal rather than putt around and talk to Wolfgang. I ESPECIALLY don’t want people going to my able sisters (I’ve heard horror stories about someone going into a host’s AS and putting obscene designs in so the villagers wear them) so shopping is definitely a no-go.

Unfortunately, my villagers ALWAYS ask about random people that I have had in my island just for trades, even if that person never passed the first three blocks past the airport dock. They don't have to interact with the villagers for the villagers to ask about them, they'll do it if they visit at all. It's really annoying because of just how the dialog works in general. Like, I can only talk to my villagers so many times before they get "annoyed" with me spamming them and it's such a dumb and nonsensical thing for them to say because that person never even so much as glanced at them.

I don't mind people chatting with my villagers when visiting if they're visiting for pleasure and not business, but that rarely happens on my island (need some acnh friends lol). But as far as the villagers "asking" about people, I'm not sure if talking to them vs not talking to them has any effect but the lack thereof definitely doesn't prevent that from happening in and of itself.

Doesn't matter. They will always talked about people visiting even if they were there for a minute and left right away. The only time I wouldn't let complete strangers on my island to talk to my villagers is during their birthdays cause visitors and give him horrendous gifts without my say so.

The able sisters doesn't bother me because I make my own designs and I kinda need a kick to finish the 4 clothing patterns I'm been lazy about finishing.

I don't mind. They mention other users even when they don't interact with em.

I'm fine with it as long as they don't start running all over trampling my flowers.

I don't care, especially since it seems in this game the villagers don't bring up the visitor(s) after a week or so.

I don't mind! It's Animal Crossing, the main part of the game is interacting with the villagers. I do make sure to ask when going to others island though, just in case they do not want visitors talking with their villagers.

Sure! If they're hanging out where we're trading or if they go up to the neighborhood to grab a DIY from someone crafting I don't mind it. I do mind if someone runs past you through your whole island without asking. As long as everyone is respectful, go for it!

I don’t mind or care— but currently my island is a mess with lots of stuff laying out everywhere, so I do fence off my shopping district from the rest of my island to give visitors at least access to my shops! So if a visitor happens to make it inside the fence or I finally get around to cleaning my island up and removing the fencing, go for it!

Doesn’t bother me at all to be honest. I normally always ask prior to doing so myself. I like to see and speak with other characters especially if I’m planning on getting that character. Like everyone says they are always waffling on about some so and so. I just ignore it! Lol

I said no mostly because whenever I do a trade they're always in and out I dont usually have like hangouts at my island. The most would be if someone shopped at my shops. But like everyone said, they could be on your island for .1 second and the villagers would talk about them. So technically, people don't talk to my villagers because trades are just quick, but if they did I really wouldn't care

I honestly love when my friends and/or people I play/trade a lot with talk to my villagers!! It gives me them something to talk about besides my sister’s character taht she rarely uses LOL

I also LOVE board messages and designs in my ables 90% of the time

i usually prefer going to others' islands for trade because a lot of the time my villagers would talk about them when i go up to talk to them

If it's just some person I'm trading with then usually I would prefer if they didn't do so simply because I usually just want the trade to be completed quickly. If it's my friends then ofc

Ike mentioned you already from yesterday btw. He said it was really cool I had someone from your island who cared enough to "hang out" and that he didn't have anyone from there who did that. We need play dates in this game now!

I think the villagers are among the more interesting parts of an island, and if someone wants to have a look around mine I would never stop them from interacting. The villagers will know they visited anyway, it doesn't really make much of a difference...
