Player Character Quirks/Headcanons?

I know some people see their avatar as an in-game version of themselves while others make them like a separate character to play as. Either way, are there any little things you do that make your character have extra personality?

I myself typically see my character as me. Same name, same hair, same clothing style (most of the time). However, for some reason, whenever I dress him up, I always feel like his legs have to be covered. If he's wearing pants or capris I need to have socks on, and if he's wearing shorts I either need socks that are long enough or stockings that match the outfit. This is odd, however, the real me doesn't care about that. I wear shorts and show my bare legs all the time. It's just some weird little thing I've projected onto my in-game character.

Anyone else have anything like that?

Actually, my hang-up is one I have in real life: I cannot deal with ankle-length skirts or dresses. It shouldn't bother me on a cartoon avatar, but it does. They look as childish and tubular as the real me in a long dress.
I also don't like a lot of the onesie outfits in NH (most uniforms, and certain tight tops) because it highlights the player character's weird round-baby-body. Running around in cut-off shorts and tights is fine. Baby-belly is no.

My character is a lot like me irl, but I also have a couple interesting clothing differences. I don’t wear skirts and dresses very often, but my avatar is often seen donning a flared skirt and sweater. This is a combo I may wear once a year, but my avatar will wear it for days.

I also wear a lot of warm colours in the game (reds and oranges), but irl I actually prefer cooler colours. Maybe it’s a skin tone thing

My character only shares my skin color and hair color than that. He's nothing like me. He's a savage he's sassy classy moody and always acting stupid. And wants to be a magical boy. Basically he's a girlier version of me. Lmao. But we both share a love for space and stars.

Oh man. I have a whole backstory for Matty. He’s basically a feral child lost in the woods after a few unfortunate mishaps. I say he’s the most wild inhabitant of an island full of animals.

Well, I'll never dress "normal" on my character. I already do that irl, so that notion is boring to me. Some days I want to be a bearded caveman. I like outfits that make me laugh.

Real me; wears makeup, wears casual-fancy clothing and loves fashion.
In-game; dresses like a pirate to abominable snowman to buffman lady.

If we had normal underwear, like white tidies, I would run around in them.

My in game character is basically me if I had the courage to wear more quirky outfits in real life.

I like to dress my character up in ways that may look ridiculous. A lot of mask and hats I obviously be impractical in everyday life.
My hair in-game is also teal even though irl I could never get that color. I don't think there's anything wrong with living your fantasies through an avatar character.

Three of my five characters are just AC incarnations of existing OCs, those have somewhat developed personalities and backstories.

My main character is just me in all sorts of clothes I can't/don't want to wear in real life.

My player character is basically me if I was able to afford the clothing style I love, not saying something dumb ever so often and if I was capable of growing any facial hair. I can only dream of having something as majestic as the handlebar mustache.

My character wears a high bun, something I can never do irl. She also wears a giant ribbon, because I'm girly and love bows!

my island rep must always be wearing some sort of headgear - this is sort of canon since for a few years, i wasn’t very confident irl unless i was wearing a hat but i’ve since gotten over that which makes my island rep constantly wearing something on her head a bit ironic loll

I got that caveman tunic recently. I had never seen it before so I put it on my character and it looked funny.

Right now, I'm making my character as me.

Same name, hair style+hair colour, eyes+eye colour, nose, mouth, the shirt I have on, the pants I have on, the socks I have on, etc.
Of course the facial features aren't perfect, but clothes I either find or use custom designs
