Pokémon PKMN: Newb Competitve Battler needs help!

so i've beat the game for awhile now and want to get back into playing it,
so i figured i'd try competitive battling. tried reading through a few articles
but they all use terms i don't even understand that they don't care to explain like sweepers and spikers.
i'm seriously the newest of the new here! i'd love some help building a team.

as of right now, my team consists of:

Altaria @ leftovers
Ability: Cloud Nine
Careful Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Toxic
- Roost
- Earthquake


Milotic @ leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover


Luxray @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Adamant Nature
- Wild Charge
- Facade
- Crunch
- Ice Fang


Blissey @ scope lens
Ability: Healer
Calm nature
- Soft Boiled
- Thunder
- Hyper Beam
- Swagger


Frosslass @ focus slash
Ability: Snow Cloak
Timid Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Spikes
- Taunt

im sure u can find a glossary on somewhere like smogon

sweepers are basically pokemon that can set up and "sweep" entire teams once their counters/checks are gone

spikers set up spikes/stealth rocks and other entry hazards

i hate to brag, but I am a competitive Pokemon player. You were missing EVs by the way

To be honest, I think that being successful means that you are going to want to counter most of the overused (OU) pokemon. From what I've seen, garchomp is a popular sweeper. I wouldn't recommend using luxray because of him and many other earthquake using pokemon. Luxray has low speed coupled with little defensive capabilities, so it wouldn't last long in a fight.

Change your Frosslass's ability to cursed body instead of snow cloak because I don't see hail anywhere in your party. Having a pokemon that can disable a powerful move is much more useful.

I would replace blissey with clefable. Clefable has the ability unaware, so boosts from swagger won't affect it. Cosmic power boosts clefable's defenses. Moonlight/wish restores HP. Toxic/thunder wave if you want to stall or moonblast if you want a faster kill. Give it leftovers if you want.

I also think that altaria will benefit more from mega evolution rather than just holding leftovers.

I think Milotic is better off being bold or calm nature and you should use scald over surf. But if you really rather use it as a special attacker, then use its ability Competitive, it has a chance to boost it's special attack. I love surf, it's been one of the best moves in the series for the longest time..but sadly with how strong most mons are now thanks to Megas and ridiculous abilities..Hydro Pump is kind of the go to move now. It seems to be all high risk, high reward these days.
