Hi all, I'm trying to grow a blue rose and I understand they come from only hybrid red roses. I'm breeding a regular red rose to purple roses in order to get the hybrid red rose. However, just yesterday I noticed a red rose spawned in my cluster of pink roses.

I've looked everywhere but haven't heard of a hybrid red rose bred from pink roses, so does anyone know if this red rose from the pink roses will work to make blue roses? Unless this red rose was planted by a villager and I should just disregard it.. does anyone have experience with this?

Pink rose x pink roses spawns red rose at times. I think it's nothing rare.
So far as I know, the hybrid red rose to be a breeding pair of the blue rose is only bred from purple rose x orange rose( first generation orange rose ).

Just as RedTropicalPeachyFish said. Sometimes flowers will go 'backwards' and spawn their parent flower colour. My black roses did this alot. I think I read that these flowers will be more likely to produce hybrids and more special flowers rather than any old rose you buy from Leif or get from the island.

I'm trying to get a hybrid red rose from a normal red rose and purple rose since I don't want any orange roses in my town anyway, but I do want purple.

You don't think I can make a hybrid red rose from a normal red rose and purple rose?

While it might be possible, I'd recommend using both purple roses. Even regular flowers will produce regular flowers, so it would be hard to tell weather or not it is a hybrid red.

Also, I question some of the combinations on that chart, like the violettes.

Best combinations for a hybrid red rose is Purple + Orange roses. Orange + White can also work.

Thanks for the input, it is possible that chart could be wrong. I will attempt purple and orange roses for a hybrid red then :)
