I read online that to get pink hyacinths you cross red and white and I have been trying this method with no luck. Today I found I had a pink hyacinth but it was next to a red and yellow one with no white nearby. So is it red and yellow makes pink or can you get them from either combination?

Seems I have gotten them from just red as well. Hybrids are so unreliable. I have a crap ton if you want a few

Does anyone know of a good flower breeding guide that includes all combinations and possible outcomes (ideally with % chance)? All the guides I seem to find are super simplified. Also watering, explained with numbers. :)

Red and white (from seeds) have a 50% chance of producing pink. However, watering yourself only increasing the chances of a flower breeding by 5%, versus 20% from just one visitor. A yellow hyacinth that is not from a seed (has different genes) crossed with a red hyacinth from a seed can actually produce pink, red, white, orange, or blue (all very small chances). If crossed with a non-seed red, it can even produce purple as well.

This is the simplest correct guide I've found on hybrids, I like it as a quick reference. You can see the numbers on watering here.

Yeah I get hybrids from combinations that supposedly don't produce them all the time. I think I got a pink rose one time while I was trying to breed purple and orange to get hybrid red. Whack.

You can get "unintended" combinations depending on the genes of the flowers. Breeding is not determined by color, but by the combination of genes in NH. Depending on the genes, purple and orange roses actually have up to 50% chance of breeding pink.

Here's K's guide.

Pink hyacinth are a product of red and white. Other than mums, they were/are the easiest hybrid for me to spawn.

I have gotten all of my pinks from red+yellow.

From seed bags? That wouldn't be possible, so they must have been offspring of hybrid colours. For red and yellow to produce pink, you'd need to pretty built up red and yellows!

I feel like quoting your guide is your bat signal :)

This is the guide I use: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...5m07NXhAm4fOpNvCs/edit#heading=h.8ezjcm1008jf

I like it because it goes into detail about the genetics behind flower breeding. Different combinations of genes can produce overlapping colors, which is why your red+yellow made a pink hyacinth (they are hybrids themselves). If your red and yellow hyacinths are from seeds, then it would be impossible for them to make pink.
