Pink carnation breeding

Recently, I’ve been trying to breed pink carnations, but with every combination I’ve used (red+pink, pink+pink, red+white) just leads to white carnations, I have about 20 white carnations and only two of red and pink that I bought. It’s also difficult to breed red ones, do you need fertilizer? Because that would be difficult since I don’t have TNT Emporium.

Are you using the diamond pattern to plant?
Essentially your flowers should be planted like this for optimum hybrid results.

O- Red
X- White
+- empty ground space

+X+
O+O
+X+

I hope this made sense.
The hybrid will appear in any of the + spots.
Using a gold watering can also increases your chances.
You can plant a whole bunch of reds and whites in this diamond/diagonal pattern to increase your chances more effectively.
It might take a couple days as its not always guaranteed to happen the next day.

Having you been breeding for awhile or just a short time? If you been breeding for a short time, give it a little bit of patience, the hybrid will pop up eventually. I believe you need to use red and white to get the pink, so try those two as a combination only for awhile.

If you have a Jacob's Ladder, you should plant it with the combos since it'll increase the chance of breeding other flowers when planted next to them!
