I'm so excited. It's been hard not to spoil the game by watching gameplay from the japanese version that came out yesterday. It's a long wait to August 4th. Maybe I'll replay Pikmin 2 while waiting.

I hope this trend of NOA releasing games later doesn't continue. Pikmin 3, the Wonderful 101 and M&L Dream Team are all coming later here

I didn't even realize it was coming out so soon in North America. o-o; Went to Club Nintendo to do the Mario and Luigi Intend to Buy only to spot Pikmin 3 there as well. I would have thought they'd give it a bit more coverage, it's been flying below my radar. :/

I just noticed something about Pikmin 3. Alph is the engineer of the ship, Chalie is the captain, but Brittany is just a botanist. That she doesn't play a major role in the mission to save Koppai at all. Sure she is helping them get the fruit, but since she is a botanist, her only actual job is to research about the fruit. Alph and Charlie are the reason why they can fly to these areas to get the fruit in the first place. In fact, at the end of the day, you can see her just standing in the ship. (although it is just a silhouette from the window of the ship).
On top of this, she is the only character that starts out needing to be rescued. Charlie did get captured by the "whatever it's called (I don't remember)", but he didn't start out that way. Also, him getting captured was solely because of his actions. Brittany starts out trapped with a gate in front of her needing Alph to save her.
Yeah, way to make the male protagonists look superior to the only female protagonist in this game Shigeru Miyamoto.

I think I will get this game. The caves in Pikmin 2 sometimes had brutal and sometimes unfair traps and difficulty which stops me from even enjoying the game. Pikmin has this very ridiculous 30 day time limit which is very annoying. Not to mention that both games have bosses that you literally won't know crap about how to defeat them. I see that Pikmin 3 has caves that won't have stuff suddenly falling from the sky to kill all of your pikmin. I also see that you actually get hints of how to beat bosses and enemies. The game also has a time limit that can be extended by gathering fruit. Also, thankfully, the bumbling snitchbug and the careening dirigibugs are not present in this game which is awsome. I am excited to play this game.

Just bumping this since Pikmin 3 is officially out (Please don't get mad that I bumped this)! I noticed that the logo for the site has been changed to have Pikmin. Anyone else is free to post here about it.
