He's not the greatest villager in my opinion but I don't think he's scary. This is a game marketed toward children, nothing about it is supposed to be scary >.<

I think people find him scary because he's a clown and they're afraid of clowns.

I don't get the hate for him either, beyond that. Unless people are afraid of clowns, he's not really that creepy or ugly in the game. It's just a matter of preference. I don't love him as much as I love some other villagers but there are villagers I dislike so much more.

I just cannot find it in me to summon up such a strong emotion as hate for an animal crossing villager. They are all pleasant in their own way. Some I wouldn't want in my towns and others I wouldn't mind having as neighbors, but I've never met a character in this game and hated them. goodness...

I was scared of Pietro when I first saw his design when NL first came out, but then I watched a Let's Play with him as a villager and I really started to like him. A few months later he moved into one of my two towns. Just yesterday, he asked to leave and I told him "no". At some point I'll let him go (I don't have dreamies), but I'm not ready for that to happen yet.

Pietro's a cutie! Don't see why you'd hate him - but everyone has their own likings, I guess! The only thing that scares me is his house... I like his rainbow fur, though. uvu
