Pictures question?

So... villagers can give you their pictures, right? That's a rare thing, and it doesn't happen often... right?

Celia just gave me hers.

Twice.

Within the space of 2 days.

I didn't really do anything special for her. The 1st time she gave me her picture, I handed over a delivery and complimented the new shirt she tried on, and the 2nd time I gave her some furniture (an Ice Sofa because I got it spare).

It happens often to me. I do a lot of favors: catching the fish and bugs they request, making deliveries, taking medicine to the sick, and trading whenever they want something. I also write letters every day. They give pictures when you're good friends, so I try to make my villagers as happy as possible.

I'm happy that Celia thinks of me as a good friend (mayor), but I always thought that getting pictures is really rare?

I've seen people complain about how they needed to get petitions signed in other towns to get a villager's picture, and Celia giving 2 to me in 2 days made it seem like it was less... rare? I don't know how to put this, but basically I thought you don't get it so easily. oDo

I'll copy paste what I mentioned in another thread:

"I believe that once you've reached the highest level of friendship with a villager there's always a very small chance that they will give you their picture after fulfilling a request. This would explain why you can be best friends with a villager for months without ever receiving their picture, while receiving a picture from a villager you've only had for a few weeks but just reached the highlest level of friendship with. So once you reach that point, I believe it all comes down to luck. Provided you don't do anything to decrease the level of friendship, that is."

So basically, I think that once you've reached that highest level of friendship there's always a small chance you'll get their picture. You just got really lucky twice within a short time span.

It's probably going to happen semi-often as people have reported that this seems a lot more common after the first one.

I've gotten pictures from all of my villagers, except for Marina because she only recently moved in. I'm doing my best to get hers. Including everyone (even those who have moved), I have about 14. I've only been playing for six months.

It's odd though, I thought refusing requests lowered friendship. I refused Celia's request to visit my house (I was going out in 30 mins and she asked to come in 30 mins), but maybe because I did another of her requests after I refused one, I bumped the friendship back up to the highest level? That'd explain it, I guess. x)

Declining requests does not affect friendship levels. ^^

I got my 2nd Diana's pic just a few minutes ago :3 It is fairly rare, you're just lucky.

When you have the maximum friendship level with your villagers, there's a chance that they'll give you their picture. Maybe you were lucky and that chance came true for you twice in a short amount of time.

Yes probably! I just got Colton's pic through the mail today, so maybe my villagers on a selfie spree or something.
