Picture mysteries

Lily moved out yesterday. Today I got a letter from her with a picture. Is that a common phenomenon? I've rarely done her a favour and I only send 1 letter. I've been doing a lot of requests for Phoebe but all she ever gives is fruit and items but never a picture, whilst I'm already getting second pictures from certain villagers. Friendship levels are so weird!

Until yesterday I thought that was the only way to get them. Have had 3 villagers move out, 3 pics in the mail. I was shocked yesterday when Daisy gave me hers after a favor.

I've gotten pictures in the mail from all my villagers that have moved except for one, and that was Paula who I only had for a week or two and never tried to get friendly with. I've also gotten a number from doing favors. It seems to me that villagers moving out will send you their pic as long as you at least tried to be their friend, while you need to basically be BFFs with a villager to get it for a favor.

Yiks! My highest friendship with Rizzo never earn a single picture =( and not with others too!! Only when some of them moved out and send me by mail...sad

There are some villagers like Deli that I have been trying to get the picture of since I made my town with no luck. I have always been nice to him and sent him mail and done everything he has asked, and still no pic. Other villagers like Bob have moved in later, and I've done all the same stuff for, and they have given me multiple pics. I have 3 pics from Bob and 2 from Limberg, still none from Deli.

I think there is a lot of randomness included in getting pics. Basically send them a letter with a present every day, and try to talk to them and do at least one favor for them every day and eventually you should get the pic.

I have gotten something like 7 pics from favors so far, and I think in all the cases it has been from them asking for a new piece of furniture for their house. Not the one where they are talking about replacing something specific, because then you get the item they are replacing, but the one where they say they are just looking for something new without giving you any specific requirements. You don't always get the pic for doing this one, but in my experience it is where you have a chance to get it.
