Which way are you going to go? I'm sure many people will buy multiple copies anyway down the road, but how's your first copy going to go?

Personally I am assuming mine is going to be digital because I'm thinking if we get a bundle then it'll be pre-loaded on the system. If there is no bundle though I'm kinda torn because being able to pre-load a digital game in order to play it right at launch is enticing to me, but then physical games aren't tied to being able to re-download them from en eShop that may go down years in the future and lock out your access if you lose access to it...

For Animal Crossing this kind of forward thinking is very important to me! What are you going to do?

I’m going Physical. I’m never a fan of digital copies because the console data could corrupt and everything stored on the console will be gone. This is why I’m going physical. Yes, there’s this new cloud feature, but if ac switch is compatible with the cloud or not, I’m still going Physical.

It's really hard for me to decide. I want to always have the game on my system, but since I want the japanese version of the game I wouldn't be buying it from my primary 'buying games' account and I don't like the idea of having to track which game came from which account. That said, I guess I could always just start buying all my games of the japanese eshop if I want to commit to using it as a practice tool.

My idea right now is to go to japan and pick up the physical release and buy some merch as well as just holiday. Hopefully it comes out in April or October lol! Prime japan visit times.

Animal Crossing is also such a huge love of mine I kind of also want the physical for that reason....

Switch cartridges are read only so the data is saved to the console itself regardless if the game is physical or digital.

I think I would like to get it physically. Unless there's a nice bundle that has it digitally, I think I'll go ahead and just buy it day 1 in town if possible, or if I can't find it anywhere as a last resort come home and buy it digitally instead. Then again, being able to buy it at midnight would be kinda cool... I can't decide. ;w;

I'm going to buy it physical, since I prefer to buy all my games physical. I just don't like digital
versions in general.

I'm still kind of torn! Getting it digitally is tempting to get it at midnight (I assume at least!) and it's always nice to be able to play without worrying about cartridges, but it's also nice to have a physical copy! Will probably see what options/prices are available once we know more. :p

Digital. I'll be playing it every day for years and I can do without swapping out game cards daily if I want to play something else.

Since the cartridge is read-only, does that mean you can use the same save data you've been using for your digital copy on your physical one if you get it in the future? If so that might be something to spring for. I might get digital so I can get it right at release and then years down the line if I lose access to the digital copy and can't get it again I could find a secondhand physical copy cheap...

I all ready bought my switch so im going digital I want to be about to play it right when it comes out.

Always physical! The one time I deviated from that rule, I really ended up regretting it.

I bought both digital and physical copies of New Leaf, and the digital one (incidentally my main town) ended up getting corrupted and rendering itself completely inaccessible, so I'm not going down that route again. Switching cartridges is a small price to pay for peace of mind. I don't really leave my carrying case anywhere out of my sight, so having the cartridge lost or stolen is simply not a thing I worry about.

Physical. I just like having something tangible I think. I dunno why XD

I almost always get the physical copy of games unless I can’t find a physical copy in stores. I just like it better, even though having a lot of game cartridges is how I lost my copy of Mario party for the 3ds... either way I’m gonna try to get the physical copy for sure. Although getting a digital copy is very tempting so that you can start playing right at launch... oh no now I can’t decide what have you done
