When walking through Phyre's golden shores, you find a book half buried in the sand. On close inspection, it seems to be a journal, but there's no name anywhere... Should you read it to try and guess the owner?

The bard K.K. Slider visited today. He didn't show up yesterday, probably so he wouldn't distract anyone from the Fishing Tournament.

... That reminds me, I went to sleep before the results were announced. I know I didn't win, but I wonder who did?

A visit to the soothsayer revealed I would have bad luck when it came to money. I wonder if the price I paid to reverse it was even worth it... No matter what I did, it would still be a loss of money today.

I wanted to send a letter to Bianca, but wasn't sure what to say. Maybe sending a simple "boo!" is childish, but that's all I could come up with.

Today was harvest time. I couldn't fit all the crops in my basket, so I needed two trips. I made a lot of cookies with the sugar and flour from all the wheat and sugarcane I harvested. I plan on giving them to my subjects, but they're all busy watching the bard today so I'll just hope the cookies are still good tomorrow.

My usual clothes felt a bit too hot - all my outfits except for two are sleeveless, but the one I wear the most was short-sleeved. I worked with the tailors to design a tank top that looked like my dress, but I'm not very happy with the result. Plus, I don't really look like a queen using a tank top and shorts, do I...? I need to think of an alternative. Still, I feel a lot cooler. I can't believe I still have to wait for a month and a half for summer to end...

Chief wanted to visit my castle today. He didn't like it. I mean, he said he liked it, but the globe in my office reminded him of school and the table in my quarters was too ancient for his tastes. He liked all the gyroids in my side room, but I've started to redecorate it as soon as he left it so that doesn't count. It'll be a kitchen now! I'm still unsure on how to decorate my basement, though.

The postal service once again made a mistake, and a **** that was meant for Kyle ended up in Bianca's hands. Since I was on my way to visit, she asked me to take it to him. But he didn't need it anymore, so it ended up in my hands. It's not really my style... I put it in my wardrobe, but I'll probably sell it later.

Pashmina was making an Apple Rug when I visited her. It was nice of her to give me the recipe, but I already knew it. I just threw it in my storage.

Today was really hot, so I went for a swim, and dived a bit for fun. I found a tiger prawn and two scallops, but refused to give them to Pascal. I'd still like to know where exactly he lives. Anyway, I made carpaccio di capesante and seafood pizza with them, both for the first time.

I tried to drink Brewster's coffee as soon as he gave it to me for once, and burnt my tongue. Maybe he felt sorry for me, because he stopped me as I left and gave me a coffee plant. I'm very grateful for that.

I had to focus on royal duties for almost a week, so once I got out of the castle again today, the kingdom had a good amount of weeds. Good thing I like pulling them. There were also lots of fossils buried around, and even a gyroid! A gyroid fragment also washed up on our shores.

I saw a scorpion on the way to Kapp'n, but it saw me too. I woke up in front of my house. I sure am glad I have no enemies! Other than scorpions, I mean. I went sailing to Kapp'n anyway, but the island we arrived in wasn't anything special. My axe broke and I got bit by a mosquito while hitting a rock, but I had a lot of fun catching bugs and fishing a bit. Plus one of the bugs was a mosquito, so I feel vindicated.

The bottled message I found on Phyre's beach had some inconsequential recipe I've known for years. The one I found on the island I visited today had a recipe for a golden piggy bank, something I learned how to do recently. I hope I can find someone who wants those.

I searched all over, but didn't see Judy today. I'll make sure to give her an extra-special gift tomorrow to make up for it!

As soon as I woke up, Judy visited the castle. I was planning to redecorate a bit, so entertaining a visitor wasn't ideal at that moment, but luckily she left just as quickly. I put a lot of furniture in my kitchen, and ordered everything I was missing, so it will be done tomorrow!

I got letters from Knox, Katrina, and Chief. Chief was thanking me for letting him visit yesterday, and sent fragrance sticks as a show of gratitude. Katrina wanted to be sure I was ok despite having bad luck yesterday, and sent me a power stone to give me luck. Knox's letter said he suddenly thought of me and decided to send a message in case I wanted to reply, so I did, thanking him and asking how life at his chapel had been going and urging him to take care of himself.

I changed from shorts to a skirt, but I still wasn't happy about my outfit. It did look better, but I wish the sorry was puffier. Instead, I called the tailors and was fitted for noble pants that should go well with my gold armour shoes. They should arrive the day after tomorrow.

I had good luck with money today. It was easy to make up for the money lost yesterday when my luck was bad (and I had to pay Katrina a lot to neutralize that).

When I visited, Audie was making potato galettes. She was kind enough to teach me how to make me, which I'm very grateful for.

Molly was visiting Judy's house today. Apparently, she thought it was a book club meeting to discuss a book she hadn't finished reading! I'm glad it wasn't, she's such a sweet soul.

Everyone is looking forward to this Saturday's tourney. To be completely honest, I'm a bit nervous, since it'll be my first time competing in one of its kind. I don't even know the rules... But I love catching bugs, so I think I'll enjoy it no matter what!

Today's bottled recipes were for chocolate herring bone walls and pound cakes. I didn't know how to make that last one, so I was happy.

Kicks visited the kingdom today. I've already seen all he could possibly offer, but I still look at his wares to find things I'd like to have in my wardrobe. Today, I bought black sequin leggings and people ballet slippers.

The island I visited with Kapp'n had lots of carrots in it. The bugs weren't very valuable, but I caught an ocean sunfish. I don't know how much it sells for but it was huge!

When we arrived back home , the sky was dark gray. I guess I didn't have to water my crops today after all.

I couldn't find Bianca anywhere today. I wonder where she was.

I saw the wandering tailor Label when I came down to the plaza this morning. I've already seen everything she could possibly offer, so I didn't bother talking to her.

Katrina foretold my luck with health to be good. But it's not like I ever get sick, so what difference does it make? Still, good luck is good luck.

I got fitted by my personal tailors again, hopefully for the last time in the season. Tomorrow, all my outfits will be summer-ready!

Since I couldn't find Bianca yesterday, I sent her a letter today apologizing for not talking to her.

Molly asked me to catch a river fish so she could ascertain whether they were stronger than sea fish because they had to swim in currents. I didn't have the heart to tell her about the existence of sea currents. She really liked the tilapia I gave her.

Pashmina invited me over. I bought her dinnerware, although I don't know what I'll do with it. We also played a card game, but I lost. I didn't particularly want the prize so I don't mind.

When I visited the Rooster for my daily coffee cup, I saw Wilbur. I wonder why he doesn't have a house on Phyre, since he spends so much time here... I'd gladly have him! He said he spends most of the time on air, but he's in the airport whenever I drop by and the plane is always parked behind the airport. Maybe he just flies around with his wings and lands whenever he sees me get close to the airport...? Wouldn't that be tiring?

Chief was making jarred mushrooms when I visited. The smell was mouth watering, but I couldn't ask for some when mushrooms are so scarce. He gave me the recipe, but I knew he knew I knew how to make them already. Still, I'll treasure it. It's a bit hard to make them so far from mushroom season, but I do have a jar in my possession already... Should I give them to him as thanks? Or maybe I should give him something else?

Speaking of, today was harvest day. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. I made more cookies. I'll hand them all over tomorrow, hopefully my subjects will find them tasty!

I visited an island full of vines and glowing moss with Kapp'n. I wonder what it looks like when it's night... The sight must be otherworldy. But it's morning, so I just gathered materials, fished a bit, caught a few butterflies and went for a swim. There was a bottled recipe for a suspicious cauldron on the beach.

When I got back home, I went straight to the crafting station to make that cauldron for Pashmina. I think it'll really fit her house, since she's an alchemist. Problem is, I couldn't find her anywhere... I'll give it tomorrow, wrapped in red!

Kyle sent me a letter saying he had a dream we owned a very successful housewares boutique. A clothesline pole was our best-selling item. That sounds fun! Should I try opening a shop just for fun? To be honest, I had been thinking of doing just that, and Kyle's dream might have been the last push I needed...

Bianca answered my letter asking if I knew anyone who wants her autograph. I should ask around. I'm sure everyone in the kingdom already has one, but if I start that shop, maybe any visiting clients would like one, free of charge! She also mentioned feeling afraid of vampires, but I'm fairly sure they aren't real. Still, I appreciate her gift of a mama panda.

I finally got my new clothes today! There isn't a single sleeve left in my wardrobe now. It was way too hot for that! Now I can freely feel the breeze as I fish and take care of my crops. My new pants arrived too, which is a bit of a step backwards when it comes to feeling cool on my daily outfit, but I do feel cooler, so it's worth it!

I caught two Queen Alexandra's birdwings! That queen certainly isn't in my bloodline, but the butterfly is beautiful. I sold it to Flick, who just happened to be visiting the island.

Katrina foretold good luck with health today. That means I'm not likely to trip! ... That's about it for things that could actually change my day. Now that I think about it, doesn't that mean every day is a good health luck day for me?

I went around the island gifting my subjects the cookies I made yesterday. Bianca was considering moving away when I got to her, but changed her mind when she saw the gift I had for her! It still hurts me whenever someone thinks of moving away, though. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Rationally, I know wanting to see new horizons is only natural, but...

... I should stop with the depressing thoughts. When I got to Kyle, he invited me to a treasure hunt! I'm really bad at them, and deeply regretted not digging out fossils before we started, but I still got the treasure in less than a minute and a half! That's amazing coming from me! And the best part? It was a barista uniform! I'd never seen one of those before!

Pashmina was cooking some spaghetti napolitan when I visited her house to give her cookies. I'm glad I could help her with dessert! She didn't need the recipe, and neither did I, so I just... ended up with it. I should find someone to gift it to.

After I gave Knox the cookies, he confided to me that the postal service had delivered him a package meant for Roscoe, and he was too busy to try and set things right, so I offered. I had to deliver him cookies too! But I do wonder what's wrong with our postal service. It feels like these mix-ups happen every other day... I need to get to the bottom of this. Anyway, Roscoe made me guess what was in the package, and... I guessed right! It was clothing, specifically a zap suit. It was really sweet of him to give it to me, so I took special care to not be seen while selling it in Nook's Cranny.

There was a whole sofa in the lost and found box. I don't know how someone managed to lose a sofa, but it's so sloppy I don't think anyone will claim it... It's in my house for safekeeping, but I think I'll find someone to take it off my hands. I can't be seen with something like that.

I couldn't reel in a big fish at the river in time. I wonder what it was. It'd taken me over a minute to get it to notice my bait, so that was a lot of wasted time...

I visited an island covered in cherry blossoms with Kapp'n today. It was really pretty, but catching the blossoms was hard. I fished a lot! There was too much trash in the sea, but other than that, I did get an anchovy, which I've been trying to get for a long time. I got a gold nugget in one of the rocks, and the other was full of bells! I came back with an inventory full of fish and seven cherry blossom petals.

The first thing I did when I got back to Phyre was... shoot down a balloon I'd seen, but the first thing I did after that was cook anchoas al ajillo with the anchovy I'd gotten (and another one I got earlier this week). Then I noticed I'd forgotten to make two more dishes, so I cooked some tomates al ajillo and made a tomato bagel sandwich. Really, with everything I cook, I could feed a hundred islands! But I'll settle for mine.

The only ingredients I was missing to cook all dishes I know were a tiger prawn and another anchovy, so I went for a swim. A scallop was the second thing I caught, and Pascal was very happy with it. I already have plenty of pearls, but it's nice to see him float away with a smile. I caught three more scallops and a pretty vampire squid, which made me realize, Bianca was right all along! Vampires are real - and they're super hard to catch! The gigas giant clam I got was even harder, though. Well, among the creatures I found. I didn't see hair nor hide of a tiger prawn - which does make sense, since they don't have either, but still!

After a loooot of diving, I finally got that tiger prawn and cooked seafood ajillo! Then, on my way to the place I always bury gyroid fragments in so they can heal, I found Celeste! I knew I'd seen a falling star while diving, but thought it was just my imagination. She explained how to make a starry-skies rug.

Before going to sleep, I sent a letter to Kyle thanking him for the treasure hunt game, with the seafood ajillo as a gift. I was assured it would arrive safe and fresh. I didn't bother wishing on stars, there were hardly any meteors at all.

Today was the Bug-Off! I needn't have worried, the rules were just like the Fishing Tournament so it was easy to take part in! According to Flick, I got over 300 points. I also got a lot of bug relics, including a cute bug cage I redesigned my whole bug-catching outfit around! Now it's a lacy green outfit with sporty leggings beneath, so I can be ready for anything. Twice, I got 12 bugs in a single round! I don't know if that's a good number, but it's impressive for me, so I'm proud of it! I also got a lot of bugs to later make models on. My goal starting today is to make all possible fish and bug models! Flies are very hard to catch, though...

Everyone was having fun with the Bug-Off, so I'm glad.

The island I visited with Kapp'n was beautiful and full of maple leaves. I caught nine!

I didn't visit Katrina, but today felt like a super lucky day!

sun-min.png

Today was the Lunar New Year! Everyone was talking about it, but there was no event or anything. I'll have to discuss that with Isabelle and Tom Nook for next year.

It rained, so I started fishing like crazy! I used up all my bait. I got a mahi-mahi and a blue marlin, although I cooked the blue marlin. No coelacanths or anything... And I searched, but couldn't find a single snail. But it's ok! I took a look at the weather report and it'll rain tomorrow, too, so I'll try again then.

When traveling with Kapp'n, suddenly it was night in the middle of the afternoon! There were lots of shooting stars and the rocks dropped star fragments. I even found a recipe for an Aquarius Urn on the beach! I liked that island.

Somehow, I was the only person during K.K.'s performance. People showed up as soon as it was over, though. I wasn't told it was going to be a private thing?

How strange - some of the pages have gone missing!

Pashmina wanted to try "a gardening thing" and wouldn't elaborate on it. She asked for any sort of bug that could be found on top of flowers, so I went to my storage and got her a ladybug. Only after I gave it to her did I remember I was trying to get three of them for a ladybug model...

Roscoe visited my house, but didn't really say anything specific about any rooms or furniture. He did say my throwback skull radio reminded him of his childhood, which was weird, because I know for a fact he keeps the exact same radio in his house.

I've thrown trash all over the kingdom, and I feel awful about it... I just want to catch three flies, but it has been days and I haven't seen a single one! Come on, little flies, I want space to redecorate!

In fact, I've thought about it and decided I'll move my indoor garden to the empty part of the island I didn't know what to do with. I'm not sure what I'll do with the room, though. A bath... is what the west wing was, and I changed it into a kitchen, so it'd be weird to change the east wing into the bath I didn't want anymore. Maybe a drawing room?

I traded with lots of travelers and finally got enough fruit to get rewarded for selling to the Nook brothers! I'm still missing a lot of miscellaneous rewards, but fruit won't be an issue anymore! Now to find it in me to make an unholy amount of furniture, tools, and dishes... I tried making a bit each day, but then started skipping day after day and... It'll take so long... Catching critters will also take long, but at least that's fun. I'm trying to catch 30 each day, eventually I'll have caught enough! The models thing also helps.

I caught my last betta today, so now I'm free from fishing in rivers... in daytime at least. I'm still missing four kinds of fish available during the night. Plus so many kinds of beetle... In daytime, I'm only missing flies, bagworms (they were everywhere when I wasn't trying to find one!), and a snail, which I should be able to catch tomorrow. That's right, tomorrow it will rain all day! I got lots of fish bait from travelling merchants, so I'm all set for both the snail and the sharks I'm missing! It actually rained for an hour today, and I made a lot of progress (including more coelacanths than I needed!), but still no snails! I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

I did it!
It took a loooot of running back and forth, but I finally got the last snail I needed to make the model! I also caught all sharks I needed , and the last koi! I'm only missing a few fish from the ones available this season, plus a looot of beetles, three flies (why! Why can't I get any!), and two bagworms I expect to get without actually looking for them.

Katrina foretold bad luck with friendship, which I promptly had purified. But maybe I shouldn't have, because everyone ran me ragged with request after request! I haven't been this tired since I was vying for the position of crown princess and my cousin was praised on her swordsbeeship. Oh, how I worked to surpass her, and in the end it was all a waste of time because she broke her arm in an "accident". Clearly I wasn't the only one worried about swordsbeeship. But I digress. I'm glad everyone was happy with all the errands I ran for them, but I do wonder if that's really part of the job as queen of the island. Shouldn't someone else deliver packages and catch bugs...?

C.J. visited the island, so I ordered models of a betta, a snapping turtle (I'm very curious to see what that will look like!), and a whale shark. I thought of selling my fish, but I think I'll leave that for after I get everything needed for models just in case I sell something I shouldn't.

I saw Tom of House Nook in The Rooster today. I know he lives... somewhere... in the island, but it still surprised me! I'm glad everyone enjoys the café. It's small things like these that make ruling the island worth it.

I didn't catch any February critters today, but I might tomorrow. I did catch enough horned atlas and elephants to make their models, though! And I was super careful to catch what I thought were golden stags but were actually miyama stags not once, but twice tonight. Good thing nobody saw, because that was sooo embarrassing!

I gave up on catching flies, at least for now. Maybe I'll try again during the winter. For now, Phyre is once again trash-free, and I intend to keep it that way! I might redecorate the east part of the island tomorrow, if I have the time.

Katrina foresaw bad belongings luck today, but I decided not to purify myself. Breaking tools left and right is actually pretty fun!

Knox gave me his picture! He visited the castle yesterday and was impressed with the treasure room, so he sent me a letter saying of all rare things I've accumulated, he bet I didn't have the picture attached... So obviously I put it in the treasure room! It was actually kind of an odyssey, because I forgot it in my pocket after changing frames to a golden one, so I walked all over the island doing all sorts of things with it in my pocket. In a way, it's like Knox went back to his traveling days, but in a picture, and inside my pocket, and in only the one island... Uh, well, anyway, now I have four pictures!

It rained for a bit, and Chief gave me an umbrella, but I already wear a hood when the weather is like that so I ended up selling it. Sorry, Chief! After the rain, we had a cute rainbow, but it was a bit too faint to be that special.

The island I visited with Kapp'n was full of tomatoes, but I don't really need any, so instead I just caught all sorts of critters as usual. And Katrina foretold good friendship luck, but I get the feeling I can't get a lot closer to everyone than I already am. Still, good luck is good luck!

Pashmina got sick! I visited her with medicine and she said she felt better as soon as she took it. I hope she'll be well again tomorrow!

Today was a bad belongings luck day, and as I broke yet another axe, I figured out a way to make one out of gold - so it was a lucky day after all!

There was nothing special in the island I visited, but I did get lots of beetles I needed for models.

I took a lot of time selecting new clothes for everyone, and will begin gifting them and trying to convince people to wear them tomorrow.

I actually forgot all about K.K. and missed his performance...

I'm trying to get the last soft-shelled turtle I need, and had to choose between two big shadows in the river. I chose the easternmost one, and it was a black bass... I still hope the other fish, that got spooked, was also one.

Pashmina was alright today! I'm really glad it wasn't anything serious. She was out all day, walking around and catching bugs and chatting with people. She even got Kyle to help her practice going back home and answering (or rather, avoiding) her father's questions.

I finally made that golden axe, but it didn't feel special. I used it to chop down a bell tree.

Bianca sent me a letter with a gift... A pot rack! I was planning to buy one for the kitchen, so I was really thankful (and made sure to reply expressing that). Speaking of letters, I sent so many today... Operation wardrobe change has officially started! I gave Sterling 24 iron armors so he would never have to wear anything else while one was being polished or repaired. I also gave Chief a warrior's armor, since he's the captain of the royal guard and should dress as such. Then I ordered new outfits for Kyle, Molly, and Judy. The latter two were already fine, but they're about to look wonderful!

Wispy was floating around and gave me a hat I didn't own yet as thanks for getting all his spirit pieces after he got spooked once again. He reeeeeally has to work on that.

I'm tired of noting down every single recipe or gyroid I get. I'll try to open my shop soon. If something doesn't get sold in one week, I'll sell it to the Nooklings. And if a type of recipe (or gyroids as a whole) doesn't sell well, I'll stop putting it up for sale at all.

I found a lily of the valley growing next to the lighthouse. I'm glad I could get our kingdom blessed by the gods of beauty after so much time filling it with trash. Speaking of, I got enough soft-shelled turtles and giant trevallies to commission their models! No new bugs, though. Still, I'm making good progress.

I found a lost item first thing in the morning, and was nervous because I didn't know whether it belonged to Chief, Roscoe, or Knox, but I got lucky and guessed right: it was Knox's! It was a book on bonsai trees, and all three had mentioned being interested in the subject.
