Still, it's a bloated, overpriced Adobe product. >_> At least they use a Mac. ;D
You can never really say something positive about something, unless it's Nintendo/Mac can you? :U
Yes I can. I'll admit that Photoshop does have some nice features, and Illustrator is a great application also, but they're still bloated, buggy, and overpriced. If Adobe actually fixes all of these issues in CS5, then I'll have no reason not to like them. But I highly doubt they will fix anything, especially the price. >_>
Tye, the reason that the price is like $700 is because it's like the next generation of photo editing. Although, I do have to agree with you. The price is outrageously high.
its a professional photo editing program tye, so are the other adobe programs after effects is used in big movies, indesign is used for magazines. etc. thats why its so much. stick to gimp if you dont like it.

There are alternatives that cost much, much less that can do almost everything Adobe's products can. Yes, the development of such technology does cost a lot, but not nearly enough to warrant the price that Adobe sells their products at. Like I said, they could be selling it at a much lower price and be making more money, because less people would be pirating their software.

they dont do almost everything adobe products do. there is no alternative to after effects, people dont even bother trying to make another alternative. same with indesign. i wouldnt count gimp as one to photoshop either. they dont cost a lot because of the price of making them, thats part of it, but the real reason for the price is because of what they can do.

That's like saying "That TV is too much money, I'm gonna go steal one."

Everything is too much money for someone. If you're serious about photography and graphics, or aspire to be one, you'll get it because it's a professional grade program like Adobe After Effects. professional

This.

Considering Tye sucks at anything photoshop related, it means nothing to him xD

This looks pretty incredible. I only use photoshop essentials in my photography class but if we had this I would save a lot of time. I use the cloning stamp tool and it takes forever .....

But that still doesn't justify the price. Yes, some of their products like After Effects don't have a good alternative, but that's just part of the reason why they can charge so much for it; because there's no competition! You're paying so much because they can make you. If there's no alternative, then it's Adobe or nothing, so they can make the price as high as they want and people will still buy it!

One of mine and Andrew's goals in life is to start a company and develop applications that are a much better alternative to Adobe's products, and at a much lower price. Hopefully it can be something to look forward to in the future.

Adobe really has no competition, that's why they can charge so much. Just like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, etc. Adobe comes with good deals just like Microsoft and Sony though, they put them in package deals.

It's not like we'd do it all by ourselves. It'd be long down the road, when we have a big company and have made enough profit from other products. Yes, it may seem like a farfetched dream, but everyone has to start somewhere, don't they? Steve Jobs didn't just magically fall into a successful company and become rich, did he? No, he worked towards his dream, and so does everyone else. If you just give up, it'll never happen!

First of all, I am in college. And I suggest you retake a few years of high school before you start college, because your spelling and grammar certainly doesn't show that you're ready for college, lol. And why would I have had to have started at a young age?! Most people don't decide what they want to do with their life until they're already in college, anyway. And so what if I don't know Java yet? It's not like I have a time limit or anything. And Andrew already knows a ton. I might not even learn everything he's learning, since I'm more interested in media, like you, apparently. I may not have started at 12, but that doesn't matter. I'm already great at filming and editing videos. Anyway, the point is that it doesn't matter what we know and don't know right now. All that matters is that we work towards our goals, and eventually it may become a reality.

and it's stupid as *censored.2.0*.

seriously, kids, if you don't know what you wanna do out of high school, stay the *censored.3.0* out of college until you make a decision.
