Do you guys heard or maybe played Peridot? It's an augmented reality mobile game from Niantic (Pokémon Go developer) with really cute pets you take care of called Dots. It's basically AR Tamagotchi with very cool breeding mechanic: the baby has a chance of inheriting any unlocked traits from its parents. There is a wide variety of the traits and some time ago they even introduced Chaos traits that are randomly generated from Peridot’s procedural generation system (these are a huge mess most of the times but you can sometimes find some really cool looking) which quite literally means endless combinations.
I really like this idea of breeding and inheritance aspect works really well! The babies can be very different from their parents (or sometimes they can be an exact copy) and some of the traits are really something else (animated patterns for example).
I've played since launch in May 2023 and oh boy it was an awful game at that time. You got one random starter Dot and one free Nest (the Nests are used for making babies) and you had to pay $5 for any extra Nest to make one single new Dot. It was insane and greedy as hell, no need to go into more details why it was the worst business model. Gladly they come into their senses and the game has changes a lot since then. Some new mechanics were introduced and Nests can now be easily obtained without paying. I have, as a F2P player, 123 Dots and over 70 Nests waiting for use. So it's much better now.
I recommending the game to anyone who might be interested, even just to see how breeding works. It might be boring after a while, since there isn't very much to do overall, and the game still has some flaws, but hey, see for yourself.
