Perfect Fruit Question

My native town is Orange, but if I plant perfect fruit that is not native will I still get perfect fruit. I thought I read that you wouldn't, but then it made it sounds like it will after a few days or a few times after you pick the tree. I just wanna know for sure.

As far as I know, the only perfect fruit you can get is of your native fruit. If say you plant a perfect peach in your town, that will just grow into a normal peach tree

Non native fruit will only grow into a regular tree. People do like to get all the perfect fruits though. I keep some on hand to spoil my villagers. If they ask for a peach, I like to give them a perfect one. It's good for friendship levels, and hopeful I get their pic a little more often
