pearl or diamond

my friend has pearl and diamond he said he was gonna sell them so i asked him if i could have them he said only 1 so he could sell the other. i havent played diamond/pearl in a while. which one would be the better choice? ( remember im getting it free so dont say"WAIT TELL PLATNIUM COMES OUT!"

I would go with Diamond, better selection of version only Pokemon and Dialga is better than Palkia in most cases.
