Save before you give it to him. He kept on trying to give me doubles as well, but eventually I collected enough for a full set in both Lancre and RainDrop.

I feel REALLY bad for people who actually want the whole set. IMO I cannot stand it, so I only participated for the heck of it and 1. I love Pav?, 2. I wanted a rainbow feather to display in my house, and 3. I wanted to see my villagers in cute outfits.

You can get them all, it's just a bit of a pain :/ Resetting would make it go faster though if he keeps giving you doubles

I got the whole set and then some in less than 2 hours. I dropped feathers in groups by color on the ground. I think that helped

I started out doing that because of things I'd read online about it, but then he'd ask for the same colors over and over again. Still one item short of the whole set

Yes. Some people just keep going and get a million duplicates.
I save before giving him the feathers he wants and if he gives me something I don't need
then I reset till he gives me what I do need.
I finished getting the set in two hours in my main town and just a hour in my second town.

Honestly, I just sold everything Pave gave me anyway, so I'm totally over it. Lol.
