Paths-help!

So recently I decided that I want to put a path in my town, just going between the villager houses. However, I am struggling to find a good path. Right now I have "sample carpet" as my path, but I don't know if I like it or not. It's a tad tacky. I want something natural looking. My town theme is "mountain village". Can anyone give me some suggestions?

not sure how extensively you've looked around online, but that is a site a lot of people use for finding some great paths. They have a lot of nature-themed paths there so hopefully you can find one to suit you. I cannot design either =p

When no path works for you, try Natural Paths (tm)! Natural Paths, just running around the town in decided areas over and over, day after day, until there's no grass.
While that's not helpful for looking for a specific pattern, I enjoy them, and they're certainly a natural look.

If it's just paths between villager houses you might want to try single-stone paths and not something continuous and permanent looking.

With each circle representing one pattern, leave spaces in-between the natural-looking stone path (forgive the awful illustration despite it being so simple). You don't have to lay them out perfectly either. Skip a few spaces here and there, skip one space...whatever feels right. You could probably find a nice one to match your mountain theme in the path tumblr someone already posted.

Wow, the ones on Tumblr look great! I already see some I like. But...how do I get them onto my D.S.? Because I definitely can't draw that. XD

Rain Crossing, by Mountain Village I mean like...sort of rugged, but also natural looking. And earthy.

Mairmalade, the circles look cool! Maybe I'll try something similar to that.

You could try using stairs to make your town look more terraced or hilly.
