Omg how do people lay out these paths?! All organized, and pretty. Do you guys have any advice on paths, and how to lay them out? QwQ

I know some people get the villagers of their choice and build their PWPs first. THEN they display their path which seems like a good idea but you have to have patience for that sort of thing (≧∇≦) I don't have patience so I'm a mess ヽ(?ー`)┌

Yeah patience is def something I must obtain.

All I know, it takes great amount of patience and some trial and errors :) You can go to people's dreamtown too so you can take a hint or ideas of path patterns, etc. People in this forum have beautiful towns! :o
Good luck and have fun laying down paths! :D

I have the same issue with paths. The town I am working on now though, I plan on having natural paths. Yikes. lol

I would suggest that you start by connecting the major points of interest -- i.e. your train station, town hall, re-tail, mayor's house, and beaches. Include the police station & cafe if you have them. After that, connect your villagers' homes to this path. It'll start to shape up extremely quickly, I promise!

Here's how I have my main path laid out so far, if you need a visual aid:

(I should note that I used the villager plot resetting trick, so that's why everything looks fairly aligned. Also, I'm going to create a forest in the bottom right area, so that's why I don't have the path extending there.)

If you're having troubles figuring out the most efficient way to actually lay down the paths, let me know and I'll give you instructions for that. :) You don't have to lay down the pattern tiles 1 or 2 at a time!

It's very time consuming and frustrating, whichever method you try.
I got all my villagers set up first before I layed my paths, was just easier to start by putting oaths going from their houses/town hall/station/retail. Also covered my plaza in paths.

I drew my town map and drew out where my paths would go.
It only frustrated me how long it took to lay down all the paths.

If you visit my dream address, Mochi is almost complete.

Not planned, or organized at all. I just went along as the town grew with villagers.
Yes, some pissed me off and plotted themselves in THE MOST RIDICULOUS SPOT.

heh...
But I just took a deep breath and path'd around their homes and pretty much ended up with a fully path'd town ^_^

That... that map... It's just perfect... I think I could cry at how beautiful it is... ;_;

get all of your dreamies first then do the pwp trick to get a **** ton of pwps to choose from then lay out your paths. as for bushes and trees, make patterns that say bush/tree and lay them where you want them to go. same goes for pwps.
