Two tiles wide because of bridges and inclines. There are some one or three tile wide places because of paths lining up. I have one tile wide paths leading from main paths to animal houses.
I switched from 2 to 4 and I love it. I only have 2 for my little neighborhood area, but the 4 feels much better. I saw how it looked like with someone bridge and just instantly fell in love with it. Also I'm not that good at decorating, so it forces me to work with smaller spots.
Mine are mostly 2 spaces wide. A few odd places they are wider like for my museum entrance and I have a Mailbox area that’s 3 wide so that my mailboxes can sit on part of the path.
