So, I recently finished the upper half of my town in paths. I realized I hate it. So I'm planning on getting rid of them.... Are you for paths or not? In theory I am. I like to see others paths but dont like it in my town.

edit: expect,,, minus the poll because I pressed enter too early :p

I like path, in my opinion they make a town look more organised and structured. :)

Why do you dislike your paths? Could you maybe show a picture.

I think it depends the way they're used. Some paths are really loud, but compliment the colorful town. But when you have a path with strong colors in a blank field, then it doesn't look so appealing. Generic answer, I know.

I'm for paths, but natural paths are really awesome too. I just don't have the patience for it, ha ha.

I'm like you, I like seeing the paths in other peoples town an when I try to do it too I give up or hate it before I'm even done. Sometimes I wish I could hire someone to come in and lay paths down FOR me!
My personal favorite paths are the stone ones that match the event plaza, but I've seen some pretty cool event plazas that look like pools and stuff. Right now I've got some flower bed patterns down on parts of the grass that I wore down cycling through yucky villagers, they seem a little out of place but I prefer it to the brown dirt stuff lol.

I have seen few towns that have really cool paths. They definitely can make the town look much better, but I'm way too lazy to actually use them :D

For the person who asked for pictures of the path:

Both. With and without, I can appreciate both. Personally, I find them more appealing once they've been landscaped around, bordered with trees, bushes, or flowers. Yours was fairly empty in the pictures. Maybe you'd like it more with a border? If not, that's fine, too. c:

I love paths! I find towns look odd if they don't have them, but maybe that's because I'm so used to seeing towns with them.

I like your path. The hearts look really cute too.Maybe a path thats a bit more colorful would make you like it better.I suggest trying some different looks before you decide to get rid of your paths.I have 3 towns.I love my paths in 2 of my towns, but not so much on the 3rd.I'm going to try some different ones.Hopefully I'll find one that I like. It's hard for me to find a good one because I'm terrible at making patterns, and I like using ones that only take 1 pattern space.

Paths can be frustrating. I've changed my paths a million times, but I think I've finally got them set up how I want them. It's a bunch of trial and error and searching. I have a folder that's full of paths and different things that I like, but not for my town, but you just have to try different ones. Typically what I would do because I like paths that only take up a couple slots as I have done full paths with corners and different directions in the past and then got lazy later when I decided to change them. But I will find a few that don't take up much space that I want to test out and I'll scan them all and then I'll pick different parts of town and lay them down for a few squares and see how I like them. And a lot of the time I don't even kick them up for a while I just switch out the paths at the tailor's and then go look. Don't give up on it just because you don't like something the first time or second or even third. I've changed my paths more times than I can even remember. The end result is worth it you just have to find what works for you.

I have a path... But I'm thinking about remodeling it because it's getting boring.
But I would have to say I like paths on worlds because it feels more organized to me.
I just don't like that unorganized feeling this is only my opinion though.

I don't have a whole lot of strong feelings about paths. For me, whether a path looks good depends a lot on the town itself and what would look best for it, the way it's arranged, and a bunch of other factors. The only thing I dislike is when people cover every inch of their town in patterns, I think that always looks over-the-top. That's just my personal preference, though, you should just do what you like best.

Based on your pictures of your path, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the path itself, it's just that it looks a bit weird because there's so much empty space around it, so it looks kind of fake. You can border it with stuff like trees, flowers, bushes, PWPs, etc.

If you don't want to do that, you can always pick a pattern that looks like your current one but has a curb/border on the outer side of it, so its edges will look less like they just end abruptly. Or you can try to find a pattern that blends in better with your town even without a border of any kind.

If it turns out that you just hate paths, you don't have to have them. I personally like them as a way of decorating my town a bit but they're not really mandatory.

Most of the time paths look infinitely better when they have a border of flowers, trees, or bushes. The added height gives it a sense of depth, making the pattern look more lifelike and real.
I really like the patterns that people edit to match the seasons, holidays, and town events. Those are so neat.
