I tried to map out paths for my town (on paper), but they looked really bad. Can someone give me specific advice or draw paths on my town map please?
My dream adress is 5300-4082-6473.

Also a rafflesia appeared in my town because I have no trees. :( try to ignore it please

The best advice I can give is to put path down where you think it'll look nice, or where you walk the most. That's what I did. Although I can't say I'm -entirely- happy with my path, I still like my town more with the path than without.
Putting them from building to building, or possibly also around buildings is also a good idea.

Looking at your town, I would say putting a path between the Train Station and the Town Center area would be a nice touch. Then a path down from the Town Center to and around Phoebe's house, as well as to the ramp to the beach, splitting off into "two" paths? And then also from the Train Station over to Re-tail. From Re-tail, possibly a path down to and then around Colton's house. Perhaps a bit of a "winding" path from Colton's house down to the bench, surrounding the bench, and then back around to have the path line up with the bridge. Then from Town Hall down to and around Tabby's home. -Possibly- a path between Tabby and Colton's places, connecting the two. Then connect the bridge path on the other side to the row of houses, as you had with the other houses, then follow it on up to your own home and complete the path by surrounding it.
The path you've already got started looks good.

After that, all that's left to do is to add in your landscaping with your flowers, trees, shrubs, and pathing to and from any of the public works projects you put out.
If you didn't understand exactly what I meant anywhere, feel free to ask questions.
You can also dream of my town to take a look at what abouts what I described will look like, since it's -about- the system I've got in my own town. That dream address will be this: 4000-3755-8012.

Hope that was helpful!
If I can do anything else, send me a PM and let me know

When I did my paths (which I'm very happy with,) I started in the main points of my town: Train station, Town Hall, etc... Then I worked from the bridges. It takes a while to get right, and it can be super frustrating! It took me over a week to make me happy. Sometimes I still go over things and move them around. You can look at my dream town if you'd like (:

Well I didn't go to your dram town since I am being lazy and not charging up my 3ds, but I choose easy paths that were one design so I don't have fancy borders or anything but I like them. I just started with my house and took it up to a bridge above my house, then to the animals, and then I did a bit a day and then it was complete! I might add more later since I am still working on my town though!

Just a bit of advice...
Okay so I only recently did my paths (like a week or two ago) and after I had finished getting the basic layout, I hated it. I've adjusted them overtime and planted more trees etc in certain areas and I'm quite happy with the end result. Though I'll most likely continue to adjust them in the future.

Just get a basic idea of how you want your paths to be start in an area you're pretty set in the setup so train station, plaza etc. for me I started where the majority of my villagers have houses. As I had a basic idea of how I wanted it to look there then I went to the train station and did up that place. After having the majority of the houses and main places done I worked on connecting them up and adding paths to any other areas I wanted.

Good luck!

So maybe something like this? (to start)

Where should I put my path character's house? Now that I think about it, it would be best to have two player houses in my mayor's section, but I can't do that anymore... :(

Although you can't put the second house where your mayor's is, perhaps on the other end of the string of houses in that empty space? I think that would look nice as well, for a player home.
