Hi everyone! Just tried to switch all my data from my 3DS XL to a new 3DS XL to have access to amiibos. The problem is I think I've lost everything! I have a physical copy and when I put it in my new DS, I was prompted to update to Welcome Amiibo. I did that but then realized that it was asking me to start all over new!! Did I overwrite my save file by updating? And if I did is there anything I can do to get it back? Thanks!

have you tried taking your SD card from your old 3DSXL and putting it into your new one? I think that might fix the problem! you'll have to update to welcome amiibo again, but you should have your save data back. (at which point, be sure to update!)
Hi! Yes I have and unfortunately, it's a no go. I think I'm just going to have to take a fresh start and look at it as rediscovering my town! I'm a little sad I had just finished my Mermaid set >___< and unlocked the theme challenges! Thanks for the suggestion though! I appreciate the reply. <3
