Overated villagers?

Out of all the tier 1 villagers listed, who is the most overated? Who is the one that people spend millions on but shouldnt? I think that Fang is overated, hes just.. A wolf

I don't think that there is such a thing as an overrated villager. It's just that everyone has different tastes, so there are of course a lot of people that won't like certain popular villagers. I also don't think that it's up to anyone to say how someone should or shouldn't spend their bells. I mean... who cares?

I agree with you except for Rosie, who I don't find that cute.

I do agree with the sentiment that tier list isn't about which villager is the 'best' but just happens to be many people's dreamy. I don't think that means anyone praises or rate them highly.

With that being said there are T1 villagers that I won't pay for, and wouldn't mind giving away. They are: Merengue, Lolly, Fauna, Anka, Marina, Rosie, Stitches, Lolly, and Lucky.

Then everyone would think those villagers are overrated.
I, honestly, don't like the tier one villagers because of how popular they are.
That's the only reason. If they were tier five, I would wonder why, and I'd probably like them, a lot more.
If these villagers were tier one, I probably wouldn't like them, as much. Though, I don't like all of those I listed, but you get

But to actually answer your question directly, Marshal.
I've had him multiple times, and I still don't get why people
were/are so obsessed with him. "He's a marshmallow!", people say.
He doesn't even look like a marshmallow, and I don't find his scowl endearing, either.

Lucky. to me he looks like a tier 3 or a tier 4 villager. I was shocked to see him all the way up there
there are so many villagers that look much more interesting and deserving the sport than him, I'd like to see him drop but then again he's even tier 2 is too high for that dog.
I don't hate him I actually like him and I think he is interesting but he's just as interesting as coco and she's not on tier 1 is she?

This is all opinion, but Fang looks too generic. Rosie I don't even think she's cute, Peanut in my town is way cuter. Diana looks too pale for me. And Julian looks like he was made to appeal to bronies.

I think its fine to talk about this, but as long as we all know that its an opinion...

I'm pretty sure I posted about how I hate stitches and he looks and acts dumb all the time... he is tier 1
But I love Merengue! she is adorable, sells the normal personality, and i like the irony of her being a rhino too!
Marshall is bleh... People think its cool he's a marshmallow and i can appreciate the pun, but thats it and I will never want him in my town personally lol
if he wasn't so expensive I might've noticed him more, but unfortunately he is Tier 1...

I challenge everyone to look at the villagers they think are cool and go by that, Tier system aside... and then if you really like a villager go for it! The tier system just makes it a challenge! thats how I looked at Merengue!

My second choice would be Marina. I had her for a while, and her big black hole of a nose just bugged me.

The whole tier thing is funny to me anyway. You could put any tier 5 on that list, and people would want them. ( No offence to people who have almost all tier ones on their dreamie list. ) But, I'm sure that if say Vladimir was all of a sudden on the tier 1, tons of people would want him.

I think that the majority of the tier one villagers are overrated. I think that they are cute (in their own way) but they definitely aren't worth the millions of bells that so many people pay for them.

Then again, if someone has 10 million bells and wants to spend it on Stitches or another villager, who am I to complain?

I think it's a good idea to remember that villagers are on high the tier list is because many people want them, not the reverse. Of course it could be a possibly their T1 status influences some, but I highly doubt it, as we can see in this thread not everyone likes T1's and their rank are shifting.

I personally only use tier list to see prices, not look for which villagers I want in my town.

I doubt that's the case. I mean, there are probably some people like that. But I think that those villagers are tier 1 because a lot of people like them --and not the other way around. I don't know, I just think that it would take a very immature person to like something just because it's popular. The same goes for someone who dislikes a villager or refuses to have them due to their popularity. Because in the end both types of people are slaves to fashion: with one wanting to be like everyone else and the other wanting to be a special snowflake (which tbh is a lot more annoying than the former)
