Charger Recall

Come on baby, light my fire...

Are you the proud owner of a Nintendo Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station made by Psyclone Essentials or React? Put your pride aside and back away slowly -- these puppies can burn.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of about 220,000 of the $50 stations after receiving reports that the batteries can overheat and cause burns. So far, six cases of overheating have been reported along with two cases of actual hand burns.

Available at major retailers like Toys R Us, Amazon, Target and Best Buy, the products were made in China and distributed by Griffin International in the U.S. Psyclone has more information about the recall on their site.

Recall Notice
At Psyclone, we take great pride in providing our customers with products that are reputable, safe, and convenient; we therefore take product safety very seriously. We regret to inform you that we are voluntarily recalling our Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station (also sold under the React brand) due to an overheating problem that has, in a few very rare instances, caused batteries to short circuit.

If you purchased a Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station sold under the Psyclone or React brand names with serial numbers PSE6501 or RT530, please contact us to participate in this recall.

You may reach us by calling 888-344-4702 Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm EST, or emailing us at productsafety@psyclonegamer.com for further instructions.

Thank you for purchasing a Psyclone or React brand Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this voluntary recall may cause you. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,
Bob Griffin

So far my Nyko's been fine. Glad my mom bought that instead of those things.
Oh, that's good to know. I'm surprised the people who burnt their hands didn't sue the company yet.

Well, I doubt the burns were actually serious enough to sue for.

Yeah, kind of true, I mean if it literally burned all of his hand and it's very serious, that's a reason to sue.

This is sad...their job was to create a quality Wii Remote charger, and yet they failed to make it safe and work properly.

Mine's not had a problem, but it has only something like 2 hours battery time..

I never liked Wii Remote chargers.
They always end up being of no use to me after 1 or 2 weeks.
