Well, whether I come to your town or not, I can give you some advice about it. I know it's a bit of a cliche, but have you tried placing paths on the ground (whether they're QR codes or made by yourself) and lining trees and bushes along them? I think it looks pretty good, and it's also a good way to create natural fences.
