I see dream town visiting threads all the time, so I'd say yes, many people visit others' dream towns.
Personally I'm more likely to visit a town if the person's posted pictures of it and I can see that it'd be worth visiting, bc I can be kind of picky lol. Or if others have said good things about it. Sometimes I'll visit if someone asks for advice on landscaping/decorating, but only if I have time on my hands, and/or feel like I could contribute something helpful.
I haven't had too many visitors, like 30-something last time I updated? I don't really want to ask people to visit until I feel like my town's completely finished (which it should be soon, anyway), but I have started getting a few since I slipped a picture into my signature... subtle advertising haha.
My main town of Applewin has over 70 visitors now.
I'm not sure with Progress.
Temps is so few; I wonder if that's why the Dream Address has had five different code numbers. (I'm not kidding. Next time I do an update, I may get yet another Dream Address change.)
So, right now I am in Cobber. I've just begun. I'm right next to Becky's house (northwest corner of town). Lots of gift-wrapped items. I had to sort through them.
I like the path. It's lovely. It look ideal in a town with a Fairy-Tale theme for Train Station and/or Town Hall. (This is applicable to the town of Cobber.)
I like that Becky's house, with the Mermaid exterior, has on its first floor numerous villager pics. I love villager pics! It's a personable touch. The house has an eclectic mix of designs. I like it! (I also really like Becky's dress. What she is where as she greets me with, "Nice to meet you!"
Cobber, which has its native fruit the cherry, appears to be pretty new; that, perhaps, it was a reset town. There aren't many Public Works Projects; more are yet to come. But, there are a good amount of hybrids. There should be more trees getting planted. (This would also call for planting some more on the beach. Either that would be necessary; or there should be coconut trees and banana trees closer together, leaving other areas of the beach bare so that the open space can be used to grow more hybrids.)
I find this town very encouraging. I really enjoy touring Dream Address towns in the rain. Cobber set that up very nicely.
One more thing that I do want to suggest: I like the location of The Roost Cafe. It's in the northern half of town, and it is in the center that is immediately south from the Train Station. I think there could be a couple Public Works Projects that could be placed south to southwest and southeast of it. (I'm thinking of the Water Fountain; anything in benches or seating; whatever enhances this space that, right now, is fairly wide. It is not unlimited. But there ares huge amounts of ground being used for the paths. I think there's even better potential for this area.)
There are really good villagers. (I also have Cube in Temps. And Diana is so sought-after, it's good you have her.)
I'm glad that I visited.
I'm now exiting Cobber.
