So it's kind of a rant/little discussion, but do people care that much about how original a villager is? It annoys the heck out of me to see people bid or make an offer and then ask, "are the original". I can understand why some people might want them to be, but in that case wait for them to come to your campsite. I guess my logic is, if you care that much then why go on a forum and get them from someone else >.< You either want them or you don't, does anyone else see it that way?

I always like when the villager is as original as it can be house wise. Clothing and catchphrase I could care less about. Though if I REALLY wanted it I wouldn't care as much. I can see why people ask, just to see what exactly they are paying for.

I get that, like for Stitches I like his house to be a certain way. All my villagers are original, but it annoys me when people offer so much tbt, say how badly they want this villager it's their only dreamie, and follow it with oh they're not original nevermind .. -_-

I have villagers I prefer to be original, but if it was someone I really wanted {like Bluebear} I wouldn't care I'd just be happy to have them in my town

When someone is paying an exorbitant amount of IGB and/or BTB, I can kind of see it. After all, would you pay the same amount for a beat up junker of a car as a Mercedes? Bad example, but I hope you understand my point.

Do I personally care? No. Besides, the longer a villager lives in your town, the more the furniture in their house will change, etcetera. But this is also the reason why I always give away any villagers that are leaving my towns. Well...that and selling them feels a little too much like trafficking to me.

If someone has a high price then yeah, you'd want them to be original. I mean paying 300 or more tbt on a villager that is no where near original is ridiculous. But even then, I think you should ask before even making an offer. What is the point on making the offer, pleading with them to pick you over the other person, only to then say you don't want them

And I can't even get into selling villagers, I mean I get people do it because it's how you make bells/a better way to get who you want, but it really is like trafficking

With the price thing, I think people add that in to the price. You'll pay more for an original villager than for one who has switched out some of their furniture.

Personally, I do prefer original villagers, but I don't really care. I usually let my villagers do what they want with their houses, unless I'm trying to get them to move (then they can take my junk and the stuff from ReTail, for all I care). Plus, I can understand it if you really like the way a villager has their house by default, then it probably will be easier to keep it that way the closer to original they are, instead of getting them to replace all of their furniture.

I visited a dream town where a villager had just two things in there house......two. I would be pissed if I got that after giving millions of bells away.

But what I was mainly on about was people who go on about how badly they want a villager etc., and they make a big deal if it's not original. I just see it as if you want the villager that badly, you shouldn't care. In some cases it's nice to have their home original, but at the end of the day if you want them that bad you'd take them and just be glad you managed to get them. I'm still new to this forum, so the whole original villager thing seems ridiculous, as does the tier system, I don't think any villager is more popular than another, it all comes down to personal preference.

Some people like a villager in part because of their house and/or clothes, so they want the villager to still have those things. I guess sometimes it's also so that it feels like the villager has been there all along.

Fixing up a wrecked house can also be annoying, especially when a lot of the items are fossils and bugs (in that case, it takes extra long since you can't buy it from them, only hope they'll replace them with whatever you send them).

I don't think it's ridiculous, it's just down to personal preference and I can understand both sides.

But if you're that bothered why not just wait until they come into your campsite? I guess I assume most people play their game a lot, and being an old game I wouldn't expect to get a villager off a trading forum and have it be an original. Maybe I don't understand why people make a big deal about it on here because I've never wanted to make tbt or igb, so wasn't concerned with keeping things valuable ><

I understand the side of wanting an original. For me personally, I just find it so bizarre people come onto a forum and expect other people's villagers to be mint. I know it's personal preference but I was more so just wondering if anyone else saw it that way or I was the only one ><

i don't even like it when villagers talk about living somewhere other than my town haha... so i guess i like my villagers original as original can be

But if you're that bothered

I'm not, I wasn't giving my personal opinion but explaining why people might prefer original villagers.

why not just wait until they come into your campsite?

For the same reasons why everyone else might want to get villagers in trades. It can take forever to campsite reset for a specific villager, especially considering that sometimes you'll get repeated guests in your campsite. Not everyone has that much time to play, I certainly don't. There are also people who don't like to use resetting tricks on their game or time travel.

There are lots of people who have original villagers for different reasons so it's not impossible or rare.

You're not the only one who doesn't care. I've had people adopt non-original villagers from me, and while I think originality is nice, I don't 100% require it depending on the situation. I don't really see the point of ranting about it, though.

Some villagers have really nice houses, and some don't. I've noticed a plethora of people that consider it a priority to constantly restock their villagers with their original furniture, clothes, etc. Personally, I'll let them wreck their house if they want to, but first I gotta take a screenshot of how beautiful their house was before they wrecked it, if it was beautiful.

I can see why you don't get the hype over "originality." I don't either. I suppose that, yes, a house full of fossils and bugs isn't the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world, but to the finicky ones who can't stand if a single thing is changed about their villager, and will supposedly die for a villager "BUT ONLY IF ITS ORIGINAL"... I have no words.

I'm not ranting, I was trying to discuss but I think a lot of people missed my point. ChooChooMuffin seemed to understand more at what I was getting at, where as you took it as a general post about why people care about an original villager

But I think it's best to close this thread now since only one person actually got it, and everyone else kind of strayed and didn't understand what I was trying to discuss >.<

Apparently can't close threads like this, so I think it's best to just ignore this then >.<
