original set of town trees and new villager house location

i noticed that only the original set of trees drop the 2 daily furniture leaves. the new fruit trees that i have planted never drop them.

so my question is, what happens if you chop down all the original town trees? is there a way to plant new regular trees that will drop furniture leaves? or do i need to protect the original set of trees and never chop them down?

also, i read that when new villagers move in, their house location is random, and where ever the house happens to "land" it will destroy anything that was there before, including any trees/flowers that happened to be growing there. is this true?

I have cut down all my original trees and replanted. I don't check everyday but when I do I still get ones with furniture pieces. Though sometimes the ones that do have too many flowers and tiles so they disappear.

As for the villager houses.. They can plant their houses wherever. The only thing that stops them is a PWP and rocks sadly. That is why some people will do the reset trick to help settle plots. ^^

No, new trees can still produce furniture. I don't even remember what all my original trees were... XD Also, fruit trees can't produce anything other than fruit, so don't shake those.
