Could you guys give me tips on how you organize your items in your closet? My closet is a complete mess! Every item is randomly placed. Also how you can keep track where each item is placed.

I do clothes in the first section, furniture in the second, and everything else in the third.

Once I unlock more rooms in my house, I'll start using the second section for clothes, too.

I do this , but the exact opposite lol

Ah, I should really make a point of doing this. My drawers are always unorganized, because i've never really though about it before.

My closests I try to keep as little as possible just so if I get any other important/cool items I could stock it there. I keep any hand held item all in one slot, some furniture in the sencond slot, my fish and bugs for tourney in the third slot, and I have a fourth slot for miscellanious things like shirts, baskets ect. I also put my DLC or gifted items by the HHD Academy or anything that can't be bought or gifted again into my saved mails at the post office so I can save as muvh space as possible instead of using my floor, but yeah just keep it organized by category and clear out things that are collecing animal crossing dust !

i only keep gems (that i'm going to sell in the retail section of retail), tools, diving suits and some other stuff in my mayor's storage. i always sell reorderables i'm not using at the moment and i store unorderables in my museum. I store clothes, bushes, saplings etc in my side characters' storages. i keep mushrooms and hybrids I don't use on my beach... rn I think Imve got a bit of stuff lyig around, too lmao...

I like to keep my closet storage fairly empty so if I ever need it (while catching bugs or during an event or something like that) i will have a lot of space

First section: tank tops/t-shirts/long sleeves (shirts and then jackets), shorts, pants, skirts

Second section: sleeveless dresses/short sleeve dresses/long sleeve dresses, shoes, socks/tights/leggings, ribbons/barrettes, hats, wigs, glasses

Third section: pics, baskets of perfect fruit, unused golden tools, HHA/Post Office prizes, Halloween masks/New Year's Eve party hats, mannequins (the first is dressed as a witch, the second is dressed as Santa, and the last two are not dressed), Streetpass/party items

i dont really clean my closet. i just put my items wherever i want.

I organize my closet with bottoms first then shirts then dresses, socks, shoes, glasses, then headwear. I also am storing fruit baskets and trees in the "B" section and mushrooms in the "C" section currently. As for furniture, well that's where my alternate characters come in. :)

Ps. I am a very organized person irl too.

First space: Clothes in order: Shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, socks, head wear

Second: Furniture in order: Wallpaper, flooring, everything else (too hard to order those in detail)

Third: All my other stuff in no real order. Tools, fruit baskets, bell bags, saplings, bushes, etc

However I have been going through my stuff and selling off anything that's re-orderable. Saves me a ton of space and headache. If I really need something, I can just order it again and wait a couple hours for the mail, or TT ahead a couple hours to get it right away. In the past I have used my museum rooms for storage though, and I just recently discovered the hidden letter storage you can do in the post office - only problem is you'd have to know what's what as well as buying plenty of writing paper before hand. I haven't tried it yet though.

It would be great if they introduced a feature similar to the newer Pok?mon games where you can sort your drawers (pc!) by similar category, and automatically sort items by clothes, furniture, bugs/fish, fruit, tools, stationary etc....

By just reading this thread I got the idea to organize my closet. It took about an hour. At least it's organized now though!

OK, I am SUPER specific about how I store my stuff! xD

@ the museum:

Exhibit Hall 1 - Saplings and Fruit
2 - Bush Starts
3- Gyroids

In my closet:

A-Tools in first drawer, then usually stationery and extra tools (axes etc.), then money, then weird things like glow wands and mushrooms, then furniture
B-Shirts, then dresses, then bottoms
C-Hats, then accessories, then shoes, then socks, then umbrellas...what am I missing? xD

Oh, and everything is alphabetized ahaha :>

I've got rare fish and sea creatures in Drawer A; rare bugs in Drawer B; and hybrid flowers in Drawer C. my other rare items i've stashed in an alt's closet in no particular order.

I have no idea why I need to have my own personal specimen of each rare fish and bug, but I can't let it go, I just dooooooo.....

How do you have the space though? I've just moved a bunch of things over to my alt because I had no space in my mayor's closet anymore and I'm so glad I did. But I would never have space if I kept fish and bugs in there! I do have some bugs and fish on display though (a cricket, a sea butterfly and a goldfish).

yeah, well i've got items all over my beach and my town, so... i need to spend time getting non-orderable sets into letters and stored at the post office...

Honestly, I used to do this but once you have so much stuff it gets way too hard, especially if you're also using museum rooms and additional characters for storage.

i usually keep the same types of items together. like clothing all go together, furniture all goes together, etc. if i have multiples of the same item like for landscaping purposes, those all go in together as well. i used to have a really cluttered closet but now it's mostly landscaping stuff which i'm slowly emptying out into my town~

i dont really have a specific order though. "A" is usually stuff i need more often like saplings and flowers, "B" is bushes (totally coincidental that it's alliteration), and C is mushrooms and anything else that i dont have space for elsewhere.
