Ordinary items that are special to you

A one dollar ring that I got sometime 5 years ago. It's made of pewter and it's got a checkerboard design on it.

I don't really wear it much these days because it's on someone else's finger, but my finger still feels naked without it.

These are all so lovely D:

I have a ragged oversized flannel that i wear practically every day, and it's basically my security blanket. If I feel anxious or self-conscious, I usually have it with me to cover myself with. It probably seems silly, but it's precious to me.

I've got a bear my mom got as a child when she had dental surgery I think, his name is Kirby, he's very old so I like him a lot. Basically all of the antiques I own or things from people who have passed away are very important to me. I have a scratchy purple sweater that doesn't fit me well but I will keep it indefinitely cause it was the last Christmas present I got from our really good family friend before she passed away from breast cancer...

I also have a hand-made blankie from my childhood that my Aunt made me, it folds into a tiny pillow as well and is light pink with bunnies on parade on it. =]

A small rock I have on display in my room. It is the first gift my sister ever gave me. She's autistic with other mental disabilities, and this was the first time she grasped the concept of giving gifts to people. It's just a rock she picked up off the ground, but she deliberately got it and held on to it for the entire school day and gave it to me when she came home. And she knew it was something I would like, because at the time I liked to collect unique looking rocks and shells and display them in my room.

I also have some stuffed animals, including a bear named Bill. Oddly enough, no one knows where the bear came from. My dad says his mother gave it to me when I was born. My mother says her mother gave it to me when I was born, but my grandma says she didn't. My half brother's dad says he gave it to me on my first birthday. But I have no memory of Bill before I was 4 years old (I can remember back to when I was 2 years old).

I have a cute little pink stuffed pig i name Piggles Von Pligglesworth its special to me it was a present from my wife

a really cheap yet cute wind up piano i bought from value village when i was like eight y/o. my family shopped there a lot back then. we weren't poor at all and we still aren't, but my parents knew well that whatever toys or clothes we bought would just be thrown away after like a month. we shop at much better places now but anyways, since we went there a lot, i have some pretty fond memories of that trashy place bc my brother and i would just roam around on our own while our mom did some shopping for us and for herself. there arent any specific memories that i feel like sharing, but whenever i look at that mini piano (its basically a music box) a lot of childhood memories just start pouring in

for the first few years, me and my brother fought over the piano bc we wanted it displayed in our rooms for our own selfish needs. i eventually gave up and just forgot about the piano altogether, but fast forward to several years later > hes moving out for college and is packing up everything he wants to bring with him. he left me a box of junk that he wanted to throw out and just wanted me to look through it in case i wanted anything, and i saw that the piano was in it. idk i just wanted it for sentimental purposes so i took that from his box of junk and yeahh
