orchid mantis

for months now i've been trying to catch an orchid mantis and i've never even seen one. i read that they were on white and purple flowers, but now my friend says that she found them on bushes?

can someone please confirm that or tell me where i've been going wrong? it's literally one of the only two things i need to catch that have been available since i got the game. =/

From my own experience, I can confirm that they're on flowers and not on bushes. But I had no idea the color of the flowers mattered! They can be found on these flowers according to the Wiki:

1. White flowers
2. Hybrid flowers
3. Dandelions

Also, they can only be found from 8am-5pm. Maybe that's what's giving you trouble?

no, I think you can only find them on white flowers (based on my experiences and the AC wiki).

yeah i've been on the wiki. and i've searched for literally hours between the times of 8am and 5pm in my game and still not found one. i've never even seen one or accidentally scared one away.

i've came to the conclusion all of them hate me.

They're extremely light colored and I hardly notice them until they fly away.
Just walk slow when near flowers!

Here's what I did to catch my orchid mantis:
1. Go to the island
2. Go to any flower island tour
3. Collect any white flowers
4. Plant them on your island
5. Wait for orchid mantis to spawn
6. Catch!

I also have the best luck on my Island. I have only a couple white roses and white cosmos and I almost always get multiple ones to spawn.

Good luck! I'm sure once you try that that you will have the little bugger in no time.

Definatly on white flowers, if you go on the island your sure to get one, hard to see tho as they are white like the flowers. Move slowly
