Opinions, Please?

I don't really know what to do with my town. I really like the idea of a jungle or safari themed town because I like zoology and exotic animals. I'm not really worried about whether or not all my dreamies fit in with the theme -- for example, I'm pretty sure Stitches won't -- since there's a good chance I could end up hating my dreamies after they move in. I'm really more concerned about landscaping, exteriors, and PwPs. I have a general idea of the kind of PwPs I would put in the town -- things like the pyramid, maybe the hotspring, and stuff. I'm also worried that some might find it culturally insensitive since I don't plan on tanning my avatar since it's supposed to represent me and the things I like. The whole town is, actually, and I just really love animals that live in jungles and on the savannah and stuff.
It's really making me question whether or not this is a good idea.

What do you guys think and do you have any suggestions for what PwPs or themed exteriors I should use if I decide to go through with it?
