Overall I did like it, but it wasn't exactly a big standout title for me either.
Outside of the graphical style, it just didn't really feel like it was doing anything exceptionally new or unique. It just 'did a Yoshi game'. There wasn't really much that couldn't have worked without the woolly theme, as well as Kirby's Epic Yarn already doing some of the more unique 'woolly stuff' in the game already.
And it was pretty easy as well, which I expect when just going from start to finish in these games (it is aimed at all ages after all) but 100% completion was very easy as well which is where I expect a game like this to bring the challenge. At most I had to do a few levels twice to get everything, and that's without using those badge things for bonuses.
But the art style was really nice and I preferred the proper 'dolls' to the Kirby's Epic Yarn simple 'outlines', as well as how they tried to link everything to being made from crafts materials.
And it was still fun enough to play, it was just a very 'safe' release.
Also, if they insist on adding Amiibo support to games, this is the kinda stuff I'm fine with. A few skins are nice enough to have without being a big enough deal to make me feel like I'm missing out on something if I don't buy specific amiibo.
I don't have it yet because I don't want to pay 50 dollars for it. If it's in a black friday sale or someone wants to get me a game for a present I'd go for it. It's just another 2D platformer that doesn't offer anything new. If I wasn't sick of 2D platformer games I'd probably love it as it is a really nice Yoshi game. (thank god baby mario is gone)
