Nightcore is the sped up version of a song, with the pitch raised.

ALSO IT'S AMAZING AND AAAHHHH. IT MAKES ANY SONG GOOD I CAN'T.

I mean, what is your opinion on this super duper amazing great 10/10 would listen forever version of a song thing?

I think there's probably some psychology behind what makes a song sound better when you change the pitch. I think it's too effortless, though. If people like that sorta stuff I'm glad people are providing it, but it's not really a genre, is it? Are there even any original musicians doing nightcore?

I really dislike it.
99% of the time it's just a song sped up, like you said. It's nothing new and takes less than a minute to make, and doesn't even sound that good.
Though, they are great to play on osu!.

Sounds like a goth metal or death metal band. Wonder what those types of songs would sound like sped up. Would be pretty cool.

I went through a small nightcore phase about 4 years ago... Not my proudest moment lol. I don't listen to it at all anymore, but there's one nightcore song I do like to listen to when it's around Christmas time. Partly for nostalgic reasons and partly just because I like it.

I love nightcore! Some times I'll listen to a song and think "I need to look up the nightcored version!" Some songs don't sound good with tho imo but a lot do (especially xmas songs)

'Nightcore' is what I would do with songs when I was bored to see if they sounded funny at double speed. I'm kind of sad that's developed into an actual genre...

Fair enough if you're literally making a song with the intent of speeding it up at the end and that being the 'original' version (that's just like deciding "I should add more phrase t this"), but otherwise, no. I don't understand the logic of preferring something just because it's twice as fast.

Sounds like a goth metal or death metal band.

That's unfair on goth and death metal bands. Even the most basic death metal song requires more effort than slapping a song into Audacity and changing the speed to X2.

I like night core on slow songs. When I first found about it, I thought it was some sort of band lmao.

I'm sure some songs sound great, but most (from what I have heard before) sound pretty annoying

i'm into nightcore, but it's something i rarely find myself listening to. it makes a lot of shtty songs sound a lot better

With all respect to people who like nightcore, I find it kind of annoying, and it sort of gives me a headache. pls dont flame me for this

but I can admit that some songs sound better in the "nightcore" version of it, than the original.
