Opinions on New Leaf Music

The background music makes me happy to listen. My favorite is 7pm, the instrumental is good! Can you give me your opinions?

I'll start at 8am.
8am - relaxing, good to listen when I wake up at a weekend
9am - like the first few notes, another relaxing morning song
10am - those deep notes at the start, another good relaxing song
11am - more upbeat song, like how it precedes to afternoon
12pm - hear a few xylophone notes, upbeat
1pm - I guess okay, to be honest, it's upbeat but overplayed
2pm - okay...the first few notes are good, but after that is overplayed
3pm - upbeat, at the center of daytime, overplayed at a few parts
4pm - precedes to evening, relaxing and upbeat at times, a bit overplayed
5pm - softer notes, relaxing to hear this while seeing sunset, first few notes overplayed
6pm - even softer notes, darker skies to listen to, sounds like wind
7pm - love the notes at the beginning, upbeat though at night
8pm - softer, relaxing to listen, feels more like night
9pm - different notes, xylophone notes feel satisfying, relaxing
10pm - deep and light notes combined sounds good, even more relaxing
11pm - relaxing, lighter notes, creepy at times
12am - high notes - good!, creepy
1am - lighter notes, no sign of upbeat to me, barely heard since I can't stay up that long, creepy
2am - brings that WW and CF feel, whistle, even more creepy, light but deep notes at times
3am - quick notes at 3 seconds in, creepy, silent for a second
4am - owo
5am - sunlight coming out, even more creepy, light drum hitting, light notes, soft, relaxing but somewhat upbeat
6am - *tick tock* noise at start, relaxing, sounds like K.K.Cruise
7am - light notes, becoming more upbeat, not creepy
Rainy themes - overpowers the upbeat and makes the music seem soft
Snowy themes - overpowers the upbeat more with bell notes

Main Street Day - sounds like its welcoming you
Main Street Night - sounds like saying goodbye, relaxing
Re-tail - bell theme, overplayed a bit

I don't really have much opinion on all the daytime music, but from like 12-4AM, especially 2AM, makes me really sad for some reason.

Alas, 7pm is my least favorite-- but I do like it when it's raining/snowing!

1pm is one of my favorites. While unnerving if you're hunting tarantulas or scorpions, it's actually rather nice to listen to when tired--i found a cover on Spotify, and listening to it helps me fall asleep (maybe I'm just weird? ). I'm also fond of 8pm.

My schedule is weird, so I rarely ever hear anything between 3am and noon, but I do like the themes I hear when awake. I like the weather themes too, they just sound calming to me.

I don't get to listen to the late night music between 11pm and 6am, but I have heard all the others quite often. I rarely stay up till 10pm, but when I do, I love listening to the 10pm music. It's my favorite out of all of them. I also like the snowy music because the sound of the bells is really soothing to me and cheery.

Overall opinion: New Leaf is my least favourite soundtrack of all the games. It doesn't do anything for me emotionally, I find it a bit dull and uninspired.

But for details on each hourly song...
12am - too minimalistic for my liking, it has a lot of percussion and I prefer more melody
1am - I do like this one, it has a beautiful melody and is quite relaxing
2am - This one is pretty interesting. The first time I ever heard it I was like "huh...." it's just a bit funky-sounding and I appreciate that.
3am - Not very memorable but I don't mind it
4am - A bit creepy and I appreciate that. There isn't enough creepy music on this soundtrack, Wild World had way more creepy night songs
5am - This one is strange too. Not my favourite but at least it isn't totally boring. The effect produced by the instruments gives me "why are you awake" vibes
6am - As opposed to 5am this one actually sounds like "good morning! nice to see you!" However it's dull.
7am - Meh, it's ok I guess
8am - Lively but it's still "meh" to me
9am - This one brings back memories since I often played at this time. It's ok.
10am - Same as 9am. I don't even like it all that much but I just think checking my mail and talking to my villagers every time I hear it
11am - This is my favourite song in New Leaf and the only one that actually gives me emotions. It has a very nostalgic sound to it. It reminds me of sitting at my kitchen table and playing as the sun shone when I first got this game back in July 2013.
12pm - This one is fun too. Possibly my second favourite.
1pm - Ok but boring. You know how after lunch you get really tired and can't focus and just want to sleep? That's what this song feels like to me.
2pm - Completely uninteresting to me
3pm - This one kind of gets on my nerves lol
4pm - Boring, like 1pm it just makes me want to not do anything
5pm - Nice sunset vibes. The melody is kind of pretty.
6pm - Boring
7pm - I think it's overrated but it IS pretty and more interesting than a lot of the other ones
8pm - Boring
9pm - Points for creepiness
10pm - Boring
11pm - I like this one, it gives me similar peaceful night vibes to 1am.

Ah interesting. I honestly just listened to the music online or wake up early or stay up late. 4am sounds creepy, sounds like Japanese ghosts are purging my house.

Honestly didn't notice that there were that many tune changes. I mean unless it's nighttime, the music does become more somber and lullaby-like.
But now I may have to take a listen lol.
And the embarrassing part is I've owned my copy since 2016. Yikes.

I find overall the music in New Leaf quite good, although it's honestly not my favorite soundtrack of all
Animal Crossing titles. It's here and there kinda boring or becomes stale the longer I'm listen to it. My
personal favorites are the ones from the nighttime and 7 PM (all versions, winter is the best one).

My personal opinions on New Leaf's ost compared to the other Animal Crossing games are pretty low, but that doesn't mean there aren't any I like. I'll start off listing my favorites and what I think of them, then I'll have a listen to the rest and list what I think of them. I haven't listened to the complete 24 hour soundtrack.

Favorites:

• 1am: 1 am has a sad, yet beautiful tune to it. To me it sounds like music you can reflect on and it's perfect for 1am where everything is calm and quiet, the air is cool and the moon is still brightly visible.
• 2am: Such a calming melody. I heard this music playing by mere coincidence when I visited a friend's town and she had her town set to 2am. I fell in love with this music the very first time I heard it playing. My mind and body felt so relaxed when I heard this and every time I hear this music, I picture myself on a private island just floating on the water without a care.
  
• 4am: I love how mysterious this music sounds. This sountrack would be perfect if you could find ghost at this hour by walking around your town and when you spot them they shriek and disappear.

7am: Boring.

8am: Bland ...and boring.

9am: Boring. The pacing is a little too slow for my tastes. I think 9am music should be more up beat than this.

10am: Better but still pretty bland. Wouldn't be bad for a 7am music.

11am: Not too bad, but it sounds like music you'd hear if you were drinking tea or coffee with a friend, not something you'd hear when working on your town chopping trees, fishing, digging fossils ect.

12pm: Ok there we go. Now it's starting to sound like music better suited for adventure and town labor.

1pm: Sounds better suited for 4pm or 5pm. It's an ok soundtrack, nothing outstanding.

2pm: It's ok

3pm: ok

4pm: it exists

5pm: it's not bad, I guess

6pm: it exists

7pm: I like it. I think it'd be better suited for 9pm-11pm, though.

8pm: Boring

9pm: This is 9pm music?

10pm: Oh, not bad I like it.

11pm: Not bad either. the music definitely suits the time.

12am: Sounds more like it should be a 3am or 4 am music, but not bad.

3am: Boring but it's not terrible either

5am: Horribly boring

1.5 AM - I find it very relaxing to listen to and it makes you feel relaxed and alone.
2.11 PM - This song just makes you want to look at the stars and wander around your animal crossing town.
3.4 AM - This song is so simple yet so beautiful. It doesn'y sound scary to me - just calming.
4.1 AM - This is such a sad but beautiful melody.
5.6 AM - This is such a happy song to listen to while the sun is rising. It feels like the game is telling me that today will be a great day. This song also is probably my most heard song while playing because this is when I typically play ACNL.
6.7 PM - This song seems like it's telling you "The day is over so no marvel the beautiful night sky."
7.12 AM - This used to be my favourite song in the game. It feels like you are sneaking out of home at midnight and lying on the grass looking up at the sky in summer.
8.7 AM - Just another nice morning song to cheer you up.
9.2 AM - This song reminds me of tarantula hunting in ACNL summer. It feels weird to not hear scuttling in the background!
10.3 AM - I find this song very similar to 2 AM I get the same feelings, thinking about tarantula hunting. I do think it is a bit more happy though.
11.10 PM - This song isn't very melodic to me ut I still find it has a strange, yet unique charm.
12.8 PM - A beautiful rendition of the main New Leaf theme.
13.11 AM - Nice happy and calm song. Love the piano too.
14.6 PM - I'm not really a big fan of this song but it is pretty nice I guess.
15.8 AM - It's a pretty nice morning song.
16.10 AM - This song is nice for a bit until it gets repetitive and annoying.
17.9 AM - Don't mind this song but it can get repetitive.
18.9 PM - Quite boring really and I'm not a big fan of the instruments.
19.5 PM - Just don't like this song. It sounds like all the good times I have ever had are disappearing.
20.2 PM - Boring and gets repetitive. This song just seems too typical.
21.4 PM - This might be my second most heard song. I find it boring and don't like the instruments at all!
22.12 PM - I can't place my finger on why I don't like this song. I just don't.
23.1 PM - Way too repetitive for my liking. The instruments are quite nice though.
24.3 PM - This song is really boring and sounds way too laid back. Also the tune is SUPER annoying.

That is my list of songs, favourite to least favourite. If you can't tell, I much prefer night and morning songs over day and evening songs.

I've never taken the time to listen to all of the different tracks, so I can only speak about the music during the times I normally play. My usual play time is around 7 to 8PM and I enjoy the music for those two hours. It's very peaceful and relaxing. On occasion, I've also played late at night for bug hunting and I think the late night music is really beautiful, with 1AM probably being my favorite. I never play in the early morning and rarely during the day, but most of the music I have heard from those times doesn't compare to the evening/night music for me.

I absolutely adore New Leaf's soundtrack and will listen to many of its songs while studying. Some personal favourites are: 2 am, 5 am, 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 7 pm, 11 pm... but I honestly love all of them.

12 AM - this is one I personally here quite a bit on the weekends. I'm not really a big fan honestly, it kind of scares me a little.
1 AM - it's very relaxing and all that but I'm not sure how I would feel to hear this song when the shops are closed and everyone is asleep.
2 AM - it's as if the game is telling the player to just go to sleep already.
3 AM - it's another pretty incoherent song like 2 AM in my opinion.
4 AM - it sounds really sad and kind of distributing, especially at this time of day.
5 AM - this one is good, I always like ones where the title theme is remixed.
6 AM - I've been hearing everyday on the weekdays, it's a really nice time to wake up to.
7 AM - it's really upbeat, like the player is ready to start a new day.
8 AM - it's alright, nothing really special to me at least.
9 AM - I hear this from time to time, and it's pretty enjoyable. Of course I like the remixed title theme and just how its structured.
10 AM - it's really upbeat and nice to listen to, this is usually when I start my day on the weekends.
11 AM - I really enjoy the "jazzy" vibe this song gives off.
12 PM - this one is really nice, but nothing really stands out to me in particular.
1 PM - I like the mellow tone this song has, I wish I could hear more of it.
2 PM - it's alright, but I feel this song is kind of overused in videos about ACNL.
3 PM - another song I hear a lot, but I can't say much about it.
4 PM - I like the quirky nature of this song and it's nice to go out and about and hear this.
5 PM - I don't know how to describe this song, but I really like it.
6 PM - Haven't heard much of this, but I like the remix of the title theme.
7 PM - this song can get a little too serious, but I really like it.
8 PM - this one is definitely my favorite. It's really calming and peaceful and I really like the remix of the title theme.
9 PM - despite the title theme remix, I'm honestly not really a big fan of this song, but it's nice to hear when it's dark.
10 PM - it's kind of upbeat which once again is nice to listen to in the dark.
11 PM - I'm not really a big fan of this, it just doesn't mesh well with the night.

As for the other songs, the song at the Re-Tail is nice, so is the town hall song but it can get repetitive, but my favorite shop music is from the T&T Mart as it really reminds me of the Wii Shop Channel music and brings back those memories.
