Opinions on my new flag?

So I just spent HOURS drawing this thing... and it's finally done. Problem is, I feel like it needs something. It's supposed to be a fox (for my town Foxbelle) but I also want it to look tribal. I feel like it needs some colour but have NO idea what colours to do for it. Any suggestions? My town is a maritime/nautical/piraty/sailor kinda town.

Any suggestions/opinions are appreciated!

Thank you! I may try that too. And my town is actually named after the main setting of a story I'm writing. I like your town name too! Starfall is a lovely name for a town. Sounds relaxing

The rest look kinda bleh, but that one has got exactly the right amount of detail.

Thank you! Yeah, and they get too complex so when transferred to pixel, they look weird. I'm so scared to tamper with it though to invert it... I spent like 4 hours trying to finish it. But it'll be worth it in the end, it sound like it'll be cool.

Very cool! I love the idea of inverting the colors - more like the jolly rogers. Perhaps blue triangular striping on the top and bottom? If I recall correctly that's suppose to mean water in heraldic terms.

Here it is inverted. I worry the detail isn't as precise as before. What do you guys think?

I think the original white background is easier to read. But you could do like dark red on pale taupe for example…!

I think the fox neck area right under the fox's mouth is maybe a little too close together. I might erase just a little bit so there's a little more of a gap there, less of a tangent.

It definitely looks tribal.

Thanks everyone! I might have a different method that MAY work better for the inverting, so I'll post that too!

I may also open a flag commission shop in the future. Send me a pic you want to be made into a flag and I may be able to do the job!
