I'm trying to think of what I might want to name my town and the name that keeps coming to mind is Heirloom. I like but I wonder if it's just too unique. It kinda makes me feel like I'm trying too hard to be different, but at the same time I'd be really off put if I discovered a town with the same name cause I'm weird like that. I don't really have a theme in mind, but if I had to pick I'd probably go with, like, magical forest. I want to create an old-timey, almost backwoods sort of town with a lot nature and antiques. I actually came up with the name by Googling synonyms for the word antique, but now I just don't know.
Do you guys think this would make a good name for a town? What kind of town comes to mind when you hear this name? Do you think it fits the sort of town I have in mind?
I think it's perfect! I don't really like it when towns have the same name either. When I was trying to come up with a name for my town I'd make sure nobody has the same name cause it seems like I'm not being original...idk that's just me lol.
I think it's a great name! You don't have to worry about being 'too' unique. Heirloom is a real word after all and actually is super elegant sounding for a town, especially if you want to establish that theme. I think it fits. If it sounds good to you, I say go for it.
