Well, my mom insisted I take my second NL cartridge upstairs, and that might not have been the greatest idea. I finally had an idea for a great second town.. and I lost my cartridge. I pretty much tore apart my entire upstairs trying to find it, and it's gone. I need to hear some success stories of people who lost cartridges and found them again to make me feel better!

If I can't find it, I'm considering deleting my main town.. which I just spent weeks getting the villagers for.

When I first got my Flame Red 3DS(2012) it had a Physical Copy of Super Mario 3D Land included, a year later it just disappeared, I never knew where it went.

Then just two years after I had bought a second copy, I found the missing one under a shelf.

Also ended up finding a missing OOT 3D cartridge under a different shelf too.

So if you didn't check under your shelves/drawers, please do right now. If you have pets they would also most likely pick it up and take it somewhere to chew/play with it, and they would probably take it to their bed or where you usually see them spend time the most.

Thank you for your advice. I checked under my shelves and it wasn't there. My only pet is a cat who isn't allowed upstairs. It's gone. I've kinda accepted that.

Be sure to check the pockets of anything you were wearing, if that's a possibility of where it could be. My mom accidentally washed my brother's NL cartridge once, when he had left it in his pocket. Interestingly, it still works!

Well I lost it two times and had to buy a new one each time so good luck ! :)

Check the washer and dryer? You will find it eventually because it is in your house unless someone threw it away. When you find it, designate a place for it.

I really think you should be able to find it if you definitely didn't leave the house with it. I don't think someone will have thrown it away if you were already told by someone else to take it upstairs!

I checked my washer and dryer and in any pants pockets I may have put it in. Not there. I lost this on Monday or Tuesday, I'm pretty sure. I may have thrown it away with my old portfolio, but I seriously remember picking it up.

This is sorta unlreated, but a fun story nonetheless.

Once when I was younger, I was obsessed with Sonic, it was all I played. My older brother had a freind, and he had a copy of Shadow The Hedgehog for the PS2. He didn't want it anymore, so he gave it to me, which was super nice of him. I really liked the game, so naturally, I played through it. One day, I came back to my PS2, to find the game missing, and I used to remove the disc anytime I was done with a game, so it wasn't in the disc tray. I looked everywhere, and I couldn't find it, so I accepted my defeat, and gave up. 6 years later, my cupboard was falling apart, so these 3 lads came to fix it. They were tearing the main plate of the cupboard off, and anything they found back there, they put in a pile. I came back to my room, they said "hey theres a bunch of junk we found behind your cupboard." And lo and behold, Shadow The Hedgehog was there. I was pretty happy that there was a conclusion to this story, so i I put it in my PS2, and learned a valuable lesson.

The PS2 version of Shadow The Hedgehog is a load of balls.

Did you have any other video games (3DS or otherwise) nearby? I mean, is it possible that you stuck your ACNL cartridge into another game's case in order to take it upstairs?
I ask because I "always" would put my CDs back in their proper cases, but one time I apparently put a Cyndi Lauper disc in another CD's case. I found it a few years later. I still have no recollection of putting that CD in the wrong case, so maybe that has what happened here?
