Two days ago, I told her to tell Kid Cat to take off this godawful shirt, yet, here he is, two days later still wearing the shirt. *sighs* Now three villagers in Lone Oak are wearing this same shirt.

I want to fire Isabelle, I know she's trying but she's not trying hard enough. Seriously, this shirt is ugly!

If I remember correctly, asking Isabelle to force a villager to change their clothing only works on custom designs like those ugly Abel Sisters designs that they have in their store when you start a new town. It's meant to let the player get rid of clothing that might have offensive words or designs. The lite polka shirt Kid Cat is wearing is a regular catalog shirt and you'll have to send him some new clothes to get him to change out of it.

I actually think he looks pretty adorable, but I understand your point. It's annoying when they wear something you dislike and then spread it like a virus.

i never knew that! it makes sense, though. guess getting rid of ugly able sisters shirts will have to be done the hard way..

I've posted this screenshot before but I certainly can relate to what's going on with HappyTails' villagers.I had three frogs sporting the Freddy Krueger look.At least I finally got Frobert to change shirts.

Before Monique moved out, Hans put on that UGLY grape shirt she wears. Ugh, now I can't get it off no matter what I do...xD

I'll try sending him a new shirt. I just like his default outfit and he just went and covered it up with this annoying shirt. Ugh....

If you're fine with minimal TT'ing (and resetting), I advise to send the new shirt before 5pm, like say 4:30, then save and quit. TT to 5:01 pm or whatever, as long it's over 5pm using the in-game clock, then walk around and see if he finally changed his shirt. If not, don't save. Exit to home menu then repeat the process of checking him until he changes his shirt.

I've given up trying to change villager's shirts, it's too stressing and doesn't pay off. Now I display designs I made on able sisters using all of the mannequins they have available and slowly but surely almost all villagers are wearing said designs in both my towns. It's easier since all you have to do is wait. :)

I had Stinky change into the rubber apron and now another villager is wearing it as well, I just close my eyes to it and hope they eventually change - I hadn't thought of going to Isabelle about it, but it makes sense what Nunnafinga says - that Isabelle only changes custom shirts (presumably back to their default shirt).

I would presume sending the villager a shirt in their favourite colour/style is more likely to get them to change. (the info is in Liquefy's faq & also Thonky's guide to birthday gifts).

I once was interrupted by Sylvia (uchi kangaroo), I don't like her at the best of times & she asked for a change in greeting when I was busy doing something else - so gave her rather a rude one - later of course regretted - but to my surprise Isabelle would not change it - I thought it would get changed to her default phrase, but the rude one has remained - I'm a lot more careful now.

Changing Ables shirt display to suitable custom designs, as per CaramelCookie, is good advice.
