You might have better luck in the villager trading plaza. A lot of cyclers don't look here. You would need more tbt though. Good luck.

I'm working on my TBT issue, I don't know of a way to get TBT faster as I don't sell villagers here

You can earn bells on acnl, retail, and train station. You can also sell in game items on tbt marketplace.

Maybe you should post in the right thread... and also offer something in return for Merengue instead of just asking if anyone has her (or that you basically must have her)? Just some advice or not...

And you also earn TBT by participating (talking) in threads as well, so if you're very sociable, you can do that.

If it's a new town, just be patient xD maybe lurk on some cycle threads? That's what I did when I first started out! There are also quite a few nice people who have free cycle threads. And if you get any villagers you don't want, you can trade them for TBT, depending on the villager though I suppose.
