Welcome to Olivia!'s book reviews. Here I will post weekly book reviews on the wide selection of books I read. Any requests of books are great. I will post a rating at the end of the review.
<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Book Review #1 - Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway(12/3/20)</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">To start off, this book curses a lot, like the average teenager. I recommend it for young adults. This book takes the setting of present day California. It's a great book about how quickly something you see as a good then can become a life changing disaster. Audrey's ex boyfriend Evan writes a song about her, titled "Audrey Wait" this song leads to endless texts, IM, and emails from various fans. Audrey soon learns she isn't a normal teenager, in fact she's a celebrity. Throughout the journey she realizes being famous is not really "fun". Overall, I thought it was a great book, it was very funny and it's a great book for someone who likes a non-fiction book. "Like the Beatles said, O-bla-di, o bla-da, life goes on".
4 out of 5 stars.

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Book Review #2 The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan(12/5/10)</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">To start off if you want to fully understand this book do some research on Greek Mythology, you'll thank me later. Myself whom is a Latin student understood everything.
Percry Jackson is a sixth grader, a slightly abnormal sixth grader who goes to a school for troubled kids. But he's being watched there. He has a destiny to fulfill a quest. Will he ever get back to his mother? Or will he burn in the underground forever?
I have to say it was very accurate with the myths, this pleased me, however some parts of this book seemed a bit silly. To start off, let's think about this one for a second, this book TOTALLY rips off Harry Potter. "Half-Blood Camp" what about the mud-bloods? Also one house doesn't get along with Percy, and each cabin is a house, you might as well just call this cabin "Slytherin" from it's description. Oh and best one yet, the invisibility cloak? Annbeth's invisibility hat? Bull*censored.2.0*. But however, I did like the book. Although was a bit sad when there was no real action or death. It had many twists. Some very interesting and some well just silly. But the thing that really annoyed me is, half way through the book I was like "Well Percy can take down any monster or whatever what's the point of reading it?" The plot was okay I guess. It seemed like Rick just took other aspects of other good fiction books and morphed them together, nothing special. Oh and by the way, the movie sucks.

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Book Review #3 1984 by George Orwell (12/10/10)</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Where do I begin? Well let's start off here, Psychonaut thank you so much for suggesting this book. IT WAS SHAMAZING. No really, I am looking forward to reading other books like this.
1984 is a great book on the Author's idea of the "negative and disruptive utopia". This novel extends to the topics that are unheard of, absurd and the ones nobody wants to talk about. George Orwell delivers great text in this book, it's a great novel that has all the best aspects, love, gore and of course twists that leave you wanting more. I suggested this book to all of my friends today, and I can't wait to read more of Orwell's books.

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Book Review #4 The Veldt by Ray Bradbury(12/10/10)</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Wow, let me tell you for a short story this will leave you hanging. The end of the story leaves you thinking what exactly just happened? It has a basic plot line but ends in a way you would never think it would. Ray Bradbury makes a short story that will last in your mind forever. Please, read this short story. Your mind will be blown.
