old home exterior being kept when forced out with amiibo?

i recently forced out several of my villagers with amiibo, and for some reason punchy and kyle both kept the exterior of the house's former owner. ankha, lucky, kabuki, and bella all worked fine but punchy and kyle both skipped the "land plot" day and instead moved directly into the old house. the interiors are completely fine and match the villager, but i'm not sure if this is an issue with my game or if it's a time travel glitch or what

regardless of what it is i really hope it gets patched because kyle is stuck in a pastel pink house and it doesn't suit him at ALL

People are speculating it has to do with time travel because non time traveler's don't seem to be having this issue.

Hopefully it is patched soon. I just hope they don't take away the villager entirely.

i time traveled on all six, so far it just seems completely random

this glitch happens when you tt backwards when the villager was moving. unfortunately the only way to get rid of it is to move the villager out (and back in if you want). to avoid it, only tt forwards one day at a time while villagers are moving out/in (tt-ing two days forward, for example, can also make the exterior glitch)

This has happened to me with a few Amiibo move-ins and I did NOT TT backwards, which some people have said causes this to happen. I think it's just a glitch. Some of my Amiibo move-ins had their houses change, and some didn't and I don't know why, but I didn't TT backwards with any of them. Someday I may move the few that have the wrong exterior out and back in to see if I can fix it, but all the exteriors are nice so I'm not worried about it now.

If this is happening to people who don't time travel at all, it's obviously a glitch and not a TT issue. Has anyone who has had this happen been able to correct it by moving Amiibo villagers out and back in? I don't even want to try it if it's not going to work.

I suggest you do TT 1 day until the house is gone and the new plot says sold. Then TT again and it should go normal. At least for me.

Wrong, it happens even when you time travel forward or not at all. Time traveling backwards will cause it to occur more often, but this glitch is not exclusive to doing that.

This happened to me when I time travelled backwards. I was able to fix it by amiibo-ing out the glitched character, then amiibo-ing them back in, time travelling only forwards.

But as others said earlier, i guess it's just always a risk when you are time travelling in either direction.

edit: also, I only time travelled 1 day at a time when trying to fix it

It happened to me today because I was working on getting Sprocket out (Another glitch where he was moving forever) Ankha was moving in from the campsite and taking Audies house. I was doing TTing to try and get Sprocket to move out but I ended up stupidly going back to April 1st because it didn't go up a month. Now ankha has Audies exterior bit I don't think it bothers me enough to fix it.

Oh and yes, I Zura TTed but only because people on the discord were suggesting it might fix my Sprocket glitch. Dark times

This had happened to me before, and apparently I never learn, because I TT backwards again. I thought this had been fixed, and now Stitches' house looks like Lily's. It doesn't look bad, but it's just such a shame...
