Ubuntu is a free UNIX based OS. Pretty good if you ask me.
I used to have AVG and now I have Avast! and Malwarebytes (which if I could GET to could get rid of the virus but safe mode won't even open up).

But hm, sounds like something I'll be downloading in the near future.

Nope.

AntiVirus Live loves me, ate away my computer, and now my only option is to have a system recovery and lose everything because my dad doesn't give a *censored.2.0*.

That's why you can't trust antivirus applications. A lot of them turn against you.

I don't know what to tell you... Windows isn't exactly my specialty, as you know. Sorry... =/ All I can say is see if there's somewhere you can take it to or if there's a number you can call for help...

I'll save the Mac comments this time, but I think you know what I'd say. =p And like Andrew said, try Ubuntu. It has the same core as Mac, meaning it's super safe and secure, too.

You'll need a disk, a basic 80 minute 700MB one would be fine.

The fact is Mac doesnt have enough viruses compatable with it since people dont bother making viruses to attack Macs since people mainly use Windows :/ so you cant REALLY say Macs better with anti-virus until mac gets the same amount of viruses as Windows.

Yeah. =P

I was joking, but if your computer is screwed, then you should at least boot Ubuntu from a CD so you can copy your files to another disc to reinstall Windows. It's a simplistic way of going about it, but it works and it's free. =P

If you have a newer computer, then you'll probably not have a Windows installation disc that used to come with the computer. In that case, some companies include something for throwing everything back to system defaults without the CD. If not that, your only choice is to either pay to have your computer fixed, install a stable operating system, such as Linux (Ubuntu distro recommended for Linux newbies), or hope for a miracle.

No, the fact is that Mac is more secure than Windows, so viruses can't access the system files and mess things up like they can in Windows. But let's not turn this into a Mac vs. PC thread, because Jenn has a serious problem here.

There is a simple way if you have the windows disc make it the OS boot with the CD ROM then when you get to a screen that says would you like to install windows click R to repair it!

UNIX-based operating systems are not susceptible to viruses like Windows is, because they're built securely from the ground-up, unlike Windows. The only reason Windows still has so many loopholes is because either Microsoft doesn't care and/or because it's quite a good source of income, making something easily broken to sell more products to fix it.

The worst thing you'll find for Macs are general malicious software, which a system administrator has to execute and is done through non-loophole exploiting methods.

Yeah, then your computer should have come with a reinstallation disc. If you've lost that, then you still have the option of Ubuntu and saving your files. =3

System32 is the file which contains the core functions to the windows pc, hence hacking and destroying a pc is WAY to easy.
So delete that and you delete your pc :/.
