Oh no :/

Well, you may or may not recall that on The 19th of this month my file corrupted because my DS died whilst saving. Oops!
Anyway, I created a new town and accomplished 4 dreamies in a day.

This morning before school, my file corrupted again, however I did nothing. This has happened twice. Even though one was my own fault, I went to GAME 30mins ago and they checked my DS to see if there were issues with it causing the corruption. They said there wasn't, so now I'm just going to play again with the same copy. I hope in this file I can get back my Fauna, who Sayoko kindly donated toward me getting and was given to me by Kaitlin :c

Oh, my goodness, you have the worst luck. I'm so sorry! (((HUG))) I really hope this doesn't happen again. I doubt you'll be able to play without constant worry, tho. I do wonder if there is something wrong with your cartridge. I have only read of people having multiple corruptions with a certain physical copy of a game, so I really wonder if that is the problem, since your DS has been ruled out as the culprit.

Huh, that's odd. Is your copy digital or physical? I wonder if it's possible that corrupting once causes some kind of damage that makes it likelier to happen again. Anyway, I'm sorry you've had that happen at all, let alone twice :/ good luck rebuilding again!

Thank you c: I think I should get a second copy so it will be better. I have had this one since release so maybe it has worn itself out. However I've had My Sims kingdom for 7 years yet that works just fine.

If it is a physical copy, maybe it would be a good idea to find a game store with some kind of trade in system and exchange it (if possible). It wouldn't be a good time for the person who would come along and buy it used though so maybe not.

Do you see any damage on the cartridge? Did you accidentally sit/drop it before? If that's not the case of the corruption,it must be the inside of the cartridge. And since you had it since release,it probably has worn itself out. I hope this does not happen to you again Best thing to do is buy a new cartridge,and start a town from there

I haven't dropped it, nor have I taken out the cartridge since I bought it.

My uncle just popped round with a new copy to my surprise. I won't be using the other one now.

I guess corruption can be fun cause I love resetting, just not when you've lost what adds up to a town full of dreamies!

ugh, I'm sorry this happened to you. You think once it's been corrupted that it has problems after that? That's terrible. It stinks that you have to spend $20-$30 to get another copy. :/ haha nm you got one as a gift

Perhaps you might have something wrong with your NL data.

This works for DIGITAL but I have yet to find out if it works for physical as well:

1.) Go to E-shop and find New Leaf
2.) Click on More Details
3.) Scroll ALLLLL the way down to Repair Software
4.) Click Repair Software and let it do it's thing, it will tell you if you have something wrong with you NL data. It will take a while but if you are missing something it can repair it.

Honestly have no idea if it works with Physical copy but you might try anyway.

I didn't know this could work with Physical ones? I thought software repair only works on downloaded apps/games. But it won't hurt to try.

She said she did nothing. So it is probably the cartridge's fault now.

You know, Avalon, I have 6 towns. (Yeah, I know...weird...but most were gifts!) If this ever happens again or you really want a second town and you feel comfortable, or know someone with a PO Box, I'd be happy to ship you one of mine as a gift. I really don't want this to happen to you and you don't deserve all the crap and heart-break.
My offer is serious, by the way. So if you EVER corrupt again or want a 2nd town for peace of mind or even for fun, I think you've MORE than earned it.

Man, that's awful. I'm sorry that happened. I know this sounds farfetched and that's because it is, but perhaps the game just corrupted. I've heard around here the chances of that happening is less than one percent, but that doesn't mean it could ever happen.

I'm sorry to hear that your file corrupted again, especially with four dreamies!

A JP friend of mine has reported six corruptions on her digital copy, so while you've had some bad luck, just know that worse things happen to others. (Sorry if that's not helpful, but I thought it might cheer you up.)

Do you leave your DS on to streetpass? Maybe that's how it got corrupted, if you leave it on and it shuts off randomly... although I guess that shouldn't happen if you're on your home screen. Never mind. Hope you have better luck with your new cartridge!!

No, my DS was off, I turned on the game and my town didn't appear. Thank you c: Off to a fabulous start at the moment ^u^
