I have long wanted to arrange Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Desafinado", but I had not seriously devoted any time to arranging it until recently. A month or so ago, I was told that Ivany Fonseca, owner of Delicious Cafe & Grill, was leaving for Brazil in March. Throughout the time I've spent playing at the cafe, she's supported me every step of the way, telling people about me and giving me an opportunity to play for those who truly appreciate Brazilian music. Moreover, she's perhaps my biggest fan, and I can't adequately express in words how much her support means to me. So as a parting gift of sorts, I arranged this song for her and played it at the cafe the day before she left Minnesota.

As I'm writing this, she is probably relaxing somewhere in Brazil, hopefully listening to this and enjoying it... as you can imagine, this arrangement means more to me than any I've done so far, so I hope you enjoy it as well.
