You would know if you had actual OCD before playing this, and a game can't give you a mental disorder. But if you mean this game made you anal-retentive about things being in specific places or organized certain ways, yeah, I can see that.
I was like this before Animal Crossing was even a glimmer in Nintendo's eye.
Well, I don't really have an OCD but a lot of times I tend to be a perfectionist..(I'm a psychology major so I wouldn't easily label people with mental disorders, but anyways,)
When I was plot resetting for my dreamies, yeaa, I was being pretty picky. I had this main paths all planned and I HAD to get my villagers in certain areas (most was just 1 tile off).. Now my villagers' houses are lined up pretty nicely so I'm happy. LOL none of my dreamies really gave me a hard time either.. Longest I spent plot resetting was probbly like 2-3 hours.. (From what I've read some people spend days plot resetting, so yeah.. xD)
May I ask what it's like to have OCD? And what you're OCD is?
Sorry it took me so long to notice this. I'm embarrassed to say this but... I haven't actually been diagnosed with OCD. Big shock!I'm pretty certain that I would be diagnosed with it if I ever brought it up to a doctor but it's relatively mild for me. It comes and goes. The problems I typically have are with hand washing and checking locks and light switches. And I mean washing my hands multiple times in a row without realizing that it isn't normal--I'm talking 10-20 times in one evening. Or spending way too much time going around the house checking whether the doors are locked and all of the lights are turned off at night (like checking the same door 10+ times). I only get like that occasionally so I deal with it pretty well.
My sister, on the other hand, had it pretty bad--at least when we were children. She did things like turn lights on and off a certain number of time and such.
I suffer from OCD. Actually diagnosed, not self diagnosis. ^^; infortunately it's pretty much my worst enemy. Mine has to do with even numbers. Everything has to be done in a certain even number to feel right enough to continue with what I'm doing.
Also intrusive thoughts. Now thinking about it, THAT is much more worse than me having to scrub my hands or do things a certain amount of time. I would not wish intrusive thoughts upon even my worse enemy
It has affected my ACNL gameplay, but thankfully not enough to dissuade me from playing.
