Well, 10 years ago Ocarina of Time came into our lives. If you guys have played it, do you think it's the greatest adventure game ever created? I mean, the graphics were amazing (back then, anyway) it had remarkable music, amazing gameplay, and gave that difficulty that made you want to kill yourself. *Cough WATER TEMPLE cough.*

It also had great cutscenes that kept you glued to the T.V.
Oh, one last thing...

HEY, LISTEN! LOOK! WATCH OUT! :glasses:

No. No Game is perfect.

I love that game, and I actually don't think it's overrated. One thing that gets me is when a genuinely good game gets a lot of praise, it's suddenly 'overrated,' like FFVII. I love that game, and just about all of Earth and some of Mars thought it was the best when it came out. It gets a lot of love, suddenly people hate it not because of the gameplay, but because so many other people like it. Thus, I believe water and air is overrated. [/rant]

Water Temple = suicidal thoughts. Navi's yelling = angry thought. Dead Hand (in the Well) = afraid, peeing thoughts.

Ironically, I've beaten it 3 times.

I don't say those games are overrated just because they're popular, I say they're overrated because I've played them, and they weren't AS good as everyone said. Sure, they may be good games, but not the best game ever like a lot of people say.

My experience with Ocarina of Time (This was about 5 months ago):

*pops onto the WiiShop Channel*

*Has some extra cash*

"Hmm, Ocarina of time...I should probably play this...apparently it's amazing..."

*purchases*

*plays for 10, maybe 20 minutes*

*goes to eat dinner*

*hasn't touched the game since*

I do agree that the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time is a pain
in the ass. That place was so frustating that I almost felt like not
touching for a while!

The Shadow Temple is definitely the scariest temple in OOT.

>:( overrated my fanny.

What you fail to see is the context, at the time the game came out it was the game. It was great, it had a decent plot that lead you on although a little cliche, it was in 3d which at the time was top graphics. They still made it easy to transition into with things like z-targeting. Who could possibly deny that it had plenty of side quests to do for extra bonuses. It was a unique puzzle solving game for its time and for one of the first 3d games it was amazing.

Fact is that it is still loved by many while still being one of the firsts of its kind, which is an achievement. The reasons it might look overrated is that it loses to games like TP if you played that first, and you get confused as to why it got so many perfect scores. Heck I know that zelda games after it had more depth like WW and TP, but they would not be what they are without OoT. It earned those scores for when it was made. You cannot compare the model T ford to modern cars, but it is still a significant advancement in the history of car production.

No. No Game is perfect.
IMO.
In order for a game to be perfect, everyone must enjoy it, deeming personal opinions irrelevant.
taking something meant to be an exaggeration literally. Honestly, though it is not perfect it held the top title of all for a long time, so while not perfect it was the closed game to it for years. BLAH! :throwingrottenapples:
