What are your thoughts?
Do you have any hopes for future crops in Nov, or even beyond?
Do you think cooking will be introduced or will we be "crafting" everything?

Personally I LOVE it. Now my little farm can be changed from flat qr codes, dropped items, and hats to make it look like food to ACTUAL crops!!!!

I know next month we will likely see more crops to go along with the Thanksgiving event, however I do hope that the game adapts a seasonal crop cycle similar to the Bush starts or crops in games like stardew valley. Im mostly hoping that we FINALLY get strawberry plants come spring.

I dont see much difference between crafting vs cooking aside from the name, but it would be cute if we could now use the stoves or kitchen items to cook crops into treats for our villagers c:

I really would like to see farming sort of morph into cooking, even if "cooking" is similar to crafting with food items/recipes instead of the typical crafting items we already have. I'd love if they had a little oven or grill that you could use similar to a workbench to cook. Even if cooking isn't possible, I do think they'll allow us to transform what we grow into other items. Looks like we'll be able to turn pumpkins into other things with recipes, according to the October update. I can't wait to see how that actually works!

I just need to decide where I want my little farm to be on my island. Also because I chose SH, it's gonna be interesting to see bright green foliage with pumpkins and then when I get the cherry blossoms; that'll be something.

I have no preference for what vegetable or fruit gets grown next; I'm up for anything.

I do think I would prefer 'cooking' to come in the form of crafting, so I could do both in one go if I wanted. There's some workbenches at tactical spots on my island and there really isn't a place where I would put kitchen items outdoors.

(If we could use the barbecue to cook, I might be good XD)

Let's hope that cooking isn't a repackaged version of crafting.

Are we just going to gather up all the materials then make it? That sounds nothing new to me.

i hope for all of the above lol, yeah !

i really think adding more crops will be an easy way for them to add content with little coding effort, to liven up seasons, so i do anticipate it happening more. i hope at least....i pray.🙏🏻 😭

bruh, if we got strawberries....the whole of AC fandom would lose its collective mind. soooo many people crave that berry. i would love vines tbh. i am sincerely hoping for grapes on cool trellises or tomatooooes.

i do think so many people have psuedo gardens rn, ita really gonna Change Things Up to see them with actual crops. if we get heavy into crop growing with fertilizer and seasonal crops and the addition of cooking to create food items? this game will go up soooo far in my estimation. imagine little canned tomato juices or pumpkin pies or utilizing special furniture like the brick oven for pizza?? wild! i do think widespread cooking is least likely, tho. somehow it just feels too creative for mr tendo.

Yeah that was my thought too. The only way I could see it as being different is if we had a mini game that determined how the food came out vs just having a different UI that looks more like a stove or oven but still the same mechanic as crafting. Otherwise they should just keep it all in crafting and have a "consumable" tab added in

I love it. :) Hopefully cooking is added... I really want more food items! The diy table is fine, but an oven would make more sense.

Farming doesn't seem to be all that much different from growing flowers and making wreaths and such. I don't know about November, but I would love it if they add strawberries at some point. Maybe more fruit diys, too. Like peach cobbler or apple pie. Maybe the November update will add more food stuff for Thanksgiving. :)

I'm so hyped for farming 😭 my little crop field will be put to use now! I hope they bring in more crops in the future, and I think they most likely will :> though hopefully we can use the crops to cook food in the future and not just furniture items

I just hope it’s permanent! I already have a farm all set up. And that we have some tipe of crops every month. I also hope we have some kind of purpose like the DIYs with the pumpkins. Strawberries and blueberries would be cute, but also vegetablea like carrots

I am still not sure about farming. The pumpkin patches will either make me love it or dislike it. I'm going to wait and see how it plays before making a judgment on it.
My thoughts exactly. For me it all depends on how the pumpkins grow. If they spread randomly like flowers, I might be a little irritated if they expand this mechanic.

I'm really hoping they introduce cooking for the harvest festival, and not just as a one time event thing. Especially since in acnl the event was like a... cooking one since you had to find ingredients for franklin to cook. Really missing the lack of food items in acnh :(

Also guessing pumpkins will be seasonal, I remember way back they were in the datamines about farmin along with like squash and some other stuff I think

Aaay spoopy cherry blossoms squad! I’m excited to have a second chance at the diys.

I’m excited for farming because any new plants is a plus for me. I’m going by my usual method of planting them literally everywhere in my forest cuz that’s how plants like to grow

I plan on putting my vegetable garden with my orchard...eventually. I realized just how much space I need now considering that we will grow more than just pumpkins. I hope that the vegetables we grow can be available in the off season or I'll have to stock up.

If they spin cooking into having crafting functionality, then I wouldn't be particularly excited about it. I hope cooking will require us to approach a stove/an oven and interact with it (e.g. stirring a pot).

I suppose I'll find out how I feel about farming next week, lol.

Please, Nintendo, let us bake cakes for our villagers. And let our villagers do the same.

coco always talks about her ”homemade treats” but they’re just things that she talks about, nothing that she actually MAKES, so that would be a cool feature if the villagers could randomly give u baked goods 🥺🥺💖💖

I think it'll probably function the way fruit trees do. To be honest, I'm okay with that. I have a place in mind for my pumpkin patch and I can expand it in another spot, if need be, for other veggies during Thanksgiving.

If the plants act like flowers (that would be my guess), I may use the cliffs on the back side of the island for out of season crops. They'd be hidden from view, but could be rotated into the garden when the time is right.
